Words cannot express what these girls mean to me, but I'll try my best. I love each and every one of them for being exactly who they are, and for being such good friends to me. They are all amazing women and I am extremely lucky that they've agreed to participate in our wedding.
My mom made me follow May home from school one day in 2nd grade. She didn't say a word to me the whole way home, but these days, I would say the opposite is true! =) We became best friends a year later, and I'm so lucky to have someone like her in my life.
I can share anything with May and know that she'll always be there for me and understand. She is a sweet, caring person and is truly like a sister to me. I am so honored to have an incredible person like May as my Maid of Honor.
I've known Des since she was still in diapers. She's my "oldest" friend and it's so wonderful that we've been able to maintain a friendship all these years!
Des is such an adorable person. We've watched each other grow up and I really admire Des for the remarkable person she's become. She has been a part of every stage of my life so far, and that's why it's so incredibly special to me that she will be a part of this next, big, and very important step. I'm so excited to have such a lovely person like Des as one of my bridesmaids.
Amy was my best friend before I even knew what a best friend was. We met when we were 4 years old and she quickly became part of the family. She even kept me company on those long, boring car rides my parents called "family vacations" and definitely made them much more fun!
I cherish all the wonderful memories we've had together. No matter where I am or how long it's been, I know Amy will always be there for me, and I love her for that. I'm so lucky to have such a great person in my life and am so delighted that she'll be a part of our special day.
Kami was my "running buddy" in middle school, though I don't think we ever actually ran anything together. =P We've had so much fun throughout the years and have shared so many great memories. I'm so glad that we've remained good friends through it all.
I love how we always pick up where we left off, no matter how long it's been. Kami can always make me laugh and we always have a great time together. She is such a lovable person and I'm very fortunate to have her as a friend and as a bridesmaid.
My college years would not have been nearly as entertaining if it weren't for Wendy. She and I clicked as soon as we met and we've been good friends ever since.
Wendy's been there whenever I've needed her and has been a big influence in my "adult" life. I love her energy and spirit, and we never fail to have a good time together. Whether I'm looking for advice or laughter, I know I can always count on her. Wendy is a wonderful person and I'm thrilled to have her as a bridesmaid.
Words cannot express what these guys mean to me, but I'll try my best. I love each and every one of them for being exactly who they are, and for being such good friends to me. They are all amazing men and I am extremely lucky that they've agreed to participate in our wedding.
Alvin has been my older brother for as long as I can remember...
He is currently finishing up his PHD work at UCLA in computer science. I would talk about his thesis in more detail, but I really don't understand any of it. In fact, I haven't understood 99% of his academic endeavors since high school. Needless to say, Alvin makes an ideal best man because he has known me forever. In addition, I still look up to him and couldn't imagine doing anything this important without him at my side.
Mark has been with Alvin since pretty much around the same time as Nancy and I got together (1998).
We consider him part of the family now, and we hope he returns soon from his post-doc in Germany. That's right, he finished his PHD and is still doing school stuff. He is one of the few people in the world that is smarter than Alvin, but that's not why we love him. Mark is a great all-around person, even though he is Canadian.
David is Nancy's little brother. Despite being 8 years younger (and ruining her charmed life as an only child), Nancy and David have always had a great relationship. They can talk like friends and are always there to support each other, no matter how silly or crazy the other one is being. They make an especially great team when disputes with their parents arise.
Nancy is extremely proud of the person her little brother is growing up to be. He's smart, caring, and has a good head on his shoulders. We have high hopes for his future and are honored to have him as a groomsman.
I knew Ryan since our days in middle school and high school and I consider him one of my best friends. I don't exactly remember how we first met, but I do recall him wearing a Super Mario t-shirt.
I don't think he wears that t-shirt anymore (at least not the same one), but his friendship and loyalty have not changed. He is always willing to put me in my place by giving me some sagely advice, a punch in the shoulder, or a kick in the behind. He is consistent, dependable, and a genuinely great human being.
I pledged a fraternity in college with Roy and we have been close since then. In fact, it was his suggestion that I move to Hong Kong after college. While his encouragement wasn't the only reason I went to Hong Kong, Nancy has never forgiven him for it. Nevertheless, Roy moved back to the U.S. a few years later and helped convince me to do the same, so I guess Nancy gives him partial credit for that as well.
Roy has served as a de-facto guidance counselor for my career aspirations, as well as the whipping boy for my caustic and insensitive sense of humor. I only make fun of him because we are such good friends and he can take it so well.
We have known Billy since college and he was also Eddie's first roommate in Hong Kong.
Though Billy is not a Groomsman, we consider him an integral part of the wedding party as he is one of our best friends. The only reason he gets separate responsibilities is because he is cursed with limitless charisma and a wicked sense of humor. We are certain he will do an outstanding job and help make our special day even more memorable and entertaining.
Hunter is the ultimate ladies man. With those cute chubby cheeks and charming personality, no girl can resist him.
He loves cars, cats, and moonlit walks on the beach. We are looking forward to having Hunter as our ring bearer.
Thanks Diana and Eric for making such a cutie pie!
Naomi is about as sweet as they come and will be a real heartbreaker when she gets older.
She is a fan of Lego's and french fries and will make a beautiful flower girl at our wedding.
Many thanks to Lenny and Annie for making such a sweet little girl!
