Nicole and Josh

How We Met

A True Fairy Tale
How We Met

Wednesdays nights traditionally meant one thing for CMU Music, Theatre, and Broadcast majors: Karaoke at B-Dubs. Nicole and Josh were both part of the "originals" who started going to B-Dubs for Karaoke during the 2004-2005 season. During this time, they knew who the other person was, but conversations never went beyond, "Hey. How are you?" Two years later, Nicole decided to go back to school and Josh, well, he was taking his time with his degree. By this time, all of their original karaoke friends had graduated, which forced them to begin talking at karaoke. One night, Josh confessed to a mutual friend, Cindy, that he was interested in Nicole. Of course Cindy told her, but Nicole wasn't completely sure how she felt about it. Then one night Nicole knocked over a beer glass, spilling it all over Cindy. She told Nicole that she "owed her one" and to make up for it, she dared Nicole to go up to Josh and kiss him. So, being one not to turn down a dare, she did just that. Needless to say, he was shocked. But apparently sparks flew cause the rest, as you know, is history.

The Proposal

The Definition of Romance
The Proposal

Nicole was planning on taking a trip up to Escanaba to visit her sister who was home from L.A. and to attend a Beach Boys concert with her family. Since she was going to be out of town for several days, Josh suggested that they go on a "date" so he took her to Mountain Town for dinner. Afterwards, as they were leaving, he began following really close behind her, which she thought was really weird. He ended up following her to her side of the car and as she was turning around to make some smart comment like "Oh, you're all of a sudden turning chivralous on me and going to open my car door?" she noticed he was getting down on one knee. She couldn't really tell you exactly what he said because she was so shocked. She kept repeating "Oh my God!" as she grabbed the ring out of the box and put it on her finger. After a minute or so of this, Josh asked, "So did you say 'yes' yet?" to which she replied, "I put the ring on my finger, didn't I?!" Ok, so she wasn't very romantic about it. But it was perfectly them.
