Our Story
The Beginning
Our story began at Todd's Sport Shop in 2003. It was both Matt's and my first job. We both distinctly remember the moment we met. We both wondered...,"Who is THAT!?" I had never before seen such a guy like this around home! He had long, band-member type hair (which I love!). There was just something about him. He seemed different...like the whole package. Cute, sweet, polite, different. I came to find how fun and ornry he was too. But, what really drew us to one another was our mutual love for Jesus. We became great friends, but didn't date until the winter of 2004. We have so many awesome memories together of swinging on my parents front porch swing, taking walks down my road, visiting art galleries, Night Sky Coffeehouse, and so many more!
The Proposal
Matt popped the question on Friday, December 19th.
Matt and I went to a nice dinner at La Piazza, where we had our first date. After dinner, Matt got up to go to the restroom while a waitress slipped me a note. It was a letter from Matt! I sat there reading, trying to figure out what was going on. I went through every emotion possible, thinking, "Is this really happening?". The letter put me through laughter, tears and confusion! It sounded like he was sending me on a scavenger hunt adventure through Troy to all the spots that were special to us. The next clue was to go to the second place we went on our first date and my favorite place in the whole world! So, I walked down the sidewalk to Night Sky Coffeehouse. Matt came up from behind and grabbed my hand and said, "Excuse me miss, I think you dropped something". I turned around and there he was, on one knee!!! He held out the ring and propsed! I said yes! (Of course!) Through the window of Night Sky, our family and friends gathered around to watch the special moment. It was the coolest thing ever! I was shocked!
