Like our love story, our journey to finalizing our wedding invites was never easy. I somehow blame myself for choosing the complicated route when i can just give in to having a ready template from any invite supplier. But then my stubborn side got the better of me. =( Besides, highly successful kase ang aming DIY Save-the-Dates and so i thought kaya na rin including the invites..

If i have to do it all over again, i would rather listen to my mom and let the experts handle it. It would have spared myself from a lot of sleepless nights and heartaches (and not to mention unnecessary spendings).. Trial and error talaga, hours & hours infront of my laptop for the lay-out, several trips to divisoria, visits to countless bookstores and paper suppliers.. Naku, hirap talaga.. My mom & i were arguing na cause i started to get sick na.. Basta, if you choose to do-it-yourself too, think it over muna.. Cause i have given up many times if only i could return all the raw materials i already ordered, haha.. =)

Hi, our MOTIFF is Red Wine / Burgundy and the THEME is Vintage Rock / Edgy Vintage.

We decided to mix some more colors that will blend well with the entourage's gowns. We will be uploading our suggested designs for your gowns very soon. Please inform us if you have other designs in mind so we can make necessary adjustments. =)

VELUZ SKETCHES

[01.03.08] 100 days to go!!! and here's the final design of entourage gowns.

Conceptualized by JAP
Sketched by VELUZ (thanks soooo much!)
and to be executed by FARLEY. =)

MOH 2

My dearest Ate Jing will be the Matron of Honor. We haven't decided yet what color she would wear that day. Just the same, we uploaded several designs for her to choose from.

lace03

The candle, veil and cord sponsors will wear similar-designed gowns but in different colors (various shades close to the motiff). Please refer to the swatches we have posted to check your designated color.

Notice that all gowns posted (including gowns for bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids and flower girl) features designs that will suit well in our chosen fabric - taffeta. Since burgundy/red wine is our color motiff, the best fabric available in this color is taffeta.

Kindly vote for your chosen design. We'll wait for your reaction/suggestions =)

01.02.08 UPDATE for our SECONDARY SPONSORS
We've found the purr-fect lace for the top part of the secondary sponsors' gowns.. Please check the gallery for the uploaded photo.. We hope you'll like them, too! :) Happy New Year!

knlazbs073738l

Our bridesmaids will wear gowns in one color - burgundy - but in various designs. The variety of designs will be minimal though. You may opt to have a bandeau, square, v-neck, scoop, halter, cowl, sabrina neckline. Sori girls, tube top (strapless) is restricted to the bride only (at least on that day).. =)

Please vote for your chosen gown structure and we will let you know if it's workable. ;)

monique lhuiller

Our junior bridesmaids will be Algy and Bea (beautiful nieces of Loel). They are both in their teens that's why we decided to have their gowns in tea length. We uploaded several designs that are stylish and chic. I personally like the one designed by Monique Lhuiller (the red one with black sash). =)

Just tell us what you prefer and we will adjust from there. ;)

Knowing our mothers, they would want to wear something conservative yet still stylish. =)

We uploaded several designs for them, only to be rejected later on, hehe.. Anyway, this will just serve as a guide for them.. They may use any colors or fabric they want to (as long as it will blend well with the rest of the ento). Though champagne or cream and lace or chiffon are still the safest choices.

12.23.07 UPDATE on our MOM's GOWNS
We decided to incorporate the Mariposa Wraps by Dita Sandico-Ong because they're simply elegant. I took photos of some of her works when we had our last-minute Christmas shopping at her Rustan's shop. Mom tried them on and im just so glad she liked them too! Ate and i bought our own version for the Veep's inauguration in Cebu last 2004 and i have worn mine at least 5 times in various occasions! Sulit talaga.. We'll just ask Farley to create a simple gown to be worn under the wraps.. This january i'll bring Mama Eva for her fitting.. Im hoping she'll agree with my choices :)

Flower Girl

Adorable Francene will wear a pink gown. The design of which will be patterned after the bride's gown. But since the bride cannot decide on her own gown design just yet, we decided to look for several designs that will blend with the rest of the entourage.

Why pink when the color motiff is burgundy / red wine? Our couturier noted never to don flowergirls with dark hues. So to compliment with our motiff we opted for pink. Very young and fresh! ;)

We were debating to use those cutie fairy wings or angel wings, but then we have to scrap the idea since that will not blend well with our Vintage Theme.. :(

Bridal Gown Inspiration

Still a BIG question mark! Who's doing it and what design we'll come up with? I have NO idea :(

Just an update: Today, 10.15.08, i already signed up with Veluz! She will be creating a simple pina gown for me. Im not keeping the details a secret but the design will surely evolve pa as we go along our fittings. Will post the first 2 designs she made for me though. She reminded me not to loose too much weight daw (?).. I have to thank Clarice (our coord) for going with me as i was as nervous as the first time we visited Veluz' shop.. Hay, ang hirap mag decide on my own!

And did i say we got Clarice's team na? Yup, we've signed up with An Event to Remember for their OTD (on-the-day) coordination only. But as early as now their already helping me.. Clarice is keeping me sane these days :)

Our Mood Board

This will showcase various pegs and photos that inspire us to achieve our Vintage-Rock theme.

js prom

True to the song Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something [Not the movie. Though we both love the film too! Hence, the vintage theme was conceptualized], Loel & i are poles apart. We were couple for 2 days and break-up for 3. In-love for a week and fought for the rest of the month. It was tough and we both struggled to find a common ground. And yes, we initially can only think of our fave movies and music! haha.. how pathetic.. :/

But from there, we were able to sort things out. And we discovered that we have a lot in common than we ever thought possible. Such as family values, our hopes and dreams and most of all our love for each other. That and a lot more (as we discovered later on), are enough to anchor what we have started. To our friends and families who listened to our rants and rumblings when we were fighting and still supported us whenever we get back together (meron ba? haha!), let us share with you our journey together.. :)

We got out rings! At first, i was a bit disappointed as i thought the designs i submitted were not executed well. The stones too small, the rings too thick & wide.. So i went home half broken-hearted. Major thing pa naman sakin ang wedding rings namin! :(

But when i got home and wear it again for mom's viewing, I begun to like it na.. As i look at them longer, the more i fell in love with our rings! In fact i wore mine to the office this monday to my cousins chagrin.. Bawal daw kase isuot yon! Eh ba't yung wedding gown ko naisukat ko na twice.. Practice lang naman. Hehe.. :)

Anyway, i now heart our rings! And the best thing is lowell liked them too.. We just need to return them for size adjustment ni lowell and some change sa inscription.. na-misspelled kase name ni lowell [should be with double l].. Btw, we just settled for our names and dates.. No fancy messages na :)

02.02.08

Etcetera.. ties for the male entourage, sandalwood fans for the church, souvenir rosary bracelets, kissing bells, wax seals and a lot more on my DIY projects.. In short, wala nko tulog! Hugs to my mom (my constant companion anywhere) and my sis (partner ko sa puyatan) :)

Picked-up our unity candles by Home & Bridal Essentials & soon our invites! Waah! Super delayed na :(

01.12.08

Product of blood, sweat and tears! Hehe.. After several mock-ups, countless trips to binondo, divisoria and diliman, we finally sent out our STD's three months behind our target date. I took the road less traveled and braved my way to traverse the DIY route. I figured i can do it myself when i finished all the lay-outs.. Hmmm.. Eh kaya ko naman pala, so pati printing, folding, cutting and sourcing the papers kakayanin ko na rin.. But it was no easy task.. I spent a lot of sleepless nights on trial and error mock-ups and unnecessary spendings kase d ko ma calculate yung papers..

But it was all worth it! Im super satisfied with the end product.. With the help of Perfect Creation (Iona), who did the envelope liners and the foldable jacket for the inserts, we were able to start sending our STD's during lola rosing's bday party.. I also bought those lovely papers we used as envelope liners from Perfect Creation.. I initially thought of importing those on-line [bcoz it's way cheaper] but im so crunch for time that i settled for the ones available here.. And i must say, i made the right choice.. Got compliments for its fab design & texture.. :) If you're looking for one-of-a kind paper, go to our dream team tab where i posted Iona's contact numbers :)

P.S. Mom said, i can it do daw naman pala.. I should try doing our formal invites daw to save and make it really personalized .. My answer is a big NO! Wouldn't go through the same stress level noh.. Besides, DIY doesn't necessarily = to savings.. i was hoping to save a lot kase super mahal ng quotes ng STD suppliers.. But i was wrong.. In my case, i was way overbudget pa sa STD's.. Maybe because in DIY, you tend to use the best material possible, you buy more than necessary or maybe because it's just me.. =)

Last Nov. 24, 2007, i had my first trial hair and make-up in time for my friend Marie's wedding. I was her maid of honor so i coincided my scheduled trial with Lanie Acedillo (lanieacedillo.com) para d naman masayang ang trial fees. I went to her posh salon in Manila Polo Club at 9.30am still groggy from last night's W@wie Christmas Party. Never a morning person, i expect the worst from this trial since it takes a while for me to perk up my chinky eyes. Lanie, an accomplished make-up artist, is really nice and soft-spoken. I have yet to thank her for accommodating me within a very short notice. She's really good, i must say, but im not so sure her talent works for me.. Mahirap ata ako pagandahin.. hahaha.. Let's see if you'll agree with me.. Check out the photos :)

before

I spent the People Power Anniversary having my trial hair and make up this time with Jesy Alto, one of Madge Lejano's great, great artist. =)

I've been waiting for a perfect occasion where i could schedule my next THMU trial, but it's been a while and i was afraid that all my fave artists might be booked by the time i decide.

-- some comments & stories to follow --

make up session..

03.08.08

After a lot of scheduling, i was finally able to set an appointment with one the busiest make-up artists in the wedding and fashion industry..

This is my 3rd (and last!) trial make-up.. [Yes, bebe.. u heard it right.. last na po pramis, hehe..] I never thought dito ako mahihirapan sa pag-finalize.. When you got no regular make-up guy, ang hirap mag decide who to choose.. Hiyangan talaga kase ang make-up.. I have very oily skin and it easily reacts with certain products.

Check-out my photos with Toto Bagamasbad =)
