Glass Ritual

Fuchsia =love Read by Stephanie Astuto
On Love
Thomas à Kempis (1379-1471)
Love is a mighty power, a great and complete good.
Love alone lightens every burden, and makes rough places smooth.
It bears every hardship as though it were nothing, and renders all bitterness sweet and acceptable.
Nothing is sweeter than love,
Nothing stronger,
Nothing higher,
Nothing wider,
Nothing more pleasant,
Nothing fuller or better in heaven or earth; for love is born of God.
Love flies, runs and leaps for joy.
It is free and unrestrained.
Love knows no limits, but ardently transcends all bounds.
Love feels no burden, takes no account of toil,
attempts things beyond its strength.
Love sees nothing as impossible,
for it feels able to achieve all things.
It is strange and effective,
while those who lack love faint and fail.
Love is not fickle and sentimental,
nor is it intent on vanities.
Like a living flame and a burning torch,
it surges upward and surely surmounts every obstacle.

The Meaning of Passion
By Mark Allstrom
9 April, 2006

What is passion? It is mystery within ardently reaching out to the mystery beyond; intense, overpowering and overwhelming feeling and emotion, a consuming zeal, driving, pulling, pushing, burning us up. Passions make life real. Life can seem grey and flat sometimes, but when you feel passion – in body, mind or spirit, whether it is anger, love, jealousy, fear or whatever – you know you are alive.

Green= growth Read by Eda Karahan
Christian D. Larson
Promise Yourself:
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Orange =happiness Read by Jen Rothfuss
This happy thought by speaker Og Mandino
Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

Teal= Loyalty Read by Dana Bowers
“To Be One With Each Other” by George Eliot

What greater thing is there for two human souls
than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen
each other in all labor, to minister to each other in all sorrow,
to share with each other in all gladness,
to be one with each other in the
silent unspoken memories?

Cloudy = Future Read by Gina Knapp
Oh the Places You’ll Go - Dr Seuss
A humorous wedding reading by popular author Dr. Seuss! Another variation is to create your own Dr. Seuss-inspired wedding poem.
Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the couple who’ll decide where to go. You’ll look up and down streets. Look ‘em over with care. About some you will say, “We don’t choose to go there.” With your heads full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down, any not-so-good street. And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town. It’s opener there in the wide open air, Out there things can happen and frequently doto people as brainy and footsy as you. And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.
OH! THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights! You’ll join the high fliers who soar to great heights! You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have all the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang, and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest. Except when you don’t. Because sometimes, you won’t. You’ll get mixed up of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with so many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with great care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left. And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed!(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
KIDS, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So, be your name Ozgur or be your name Stacy, you’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So … get on your way!"

Ruff edges= symbolize the journey thru life Read by Rev. Dr. Jack Porcello

Phrase of the chapel= “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people” acknowledge we are all from different beliefs and religions but if everyone could have a moment of silence to bless their glass piece in their own way.

Closing: Please remember as you leave to place your glass piece in the collection containers in the back. Each of these pieces of glass is fragile, just as your relationship can be fragile at times with the bride and groom. When you take this glass and put it together in a way such as these windows above us it can be strong. The bride and groom will be turning these pieces of glass into a piece of art that will be showcased in there home and when complete this will symbolize the strength of a community, family, and friends in the journey they are now beginning together. This art will remind them everyday of the people that supported them in the beginning of this journey and that will be there ever day throughout this journey.
