Finally, I’m done with my suppliers ratings. Up to now I still cringe whenever I remember Our Big Day! It was very memorable and the guests are raving about how beautiful and organized our wedding was. My greatest thanks to w@w, to John and Benz, who have been so helpful! To my fellow w@wies who has been so open to giving options and suggestions that have enlightened me in making my once in a lifetime wedding all the more special.

Rate: Php13,000 (inclusive of flowers,Priest) + 500 (pre-cana seminar)
Rating: @@@@@
Requirements: We never encountered any problems re the requirements since Allan and Inday were very accommodating and just a phone call away.
Pre-cana seminar: We had fun during the pre-cana seminar. Ang dami kasi namin around 20+ couples, even Paolo Santos was there as a participant in the seminar hehe. We started around 8AM and the seminar ended at 5PM. We enjoyed the seminar and learned a lot from Kuya Jun Rivera. We also had the chance to learn more about our relationship plus yung mga issues na dapat paghandaan upon entering married life.
Canonical interview: Nauna kasi ang canonical interview naming before the pre-cana seminar so we really didn’t know what to expect. Nag-fill up lang kami ng mahabang form and then mag-proceed na doon sa Priest na mag-iinterview. It was Father Obac who did the canonical interview and medyo mabilis lang kami since sabi niya Ryan and I complement each other.
Wedding day itself-
Pros: It was raining hard when we left Astoria pero when I arrived at NSDG, wala nang ulan! The guests loved the church, some of our guests came from Ilocos pa (who are very used to seeing old churches and we were not surprised na nagandahan sila sa church). The flowers were fresh and the manangs were very organized. The Priest was selected by NDSG pero we had a blast during the ceremony since sobrang komedyante yung pari!
Cons: The manangs were strict to the point na pinapagalitan ang aking entourage pero okay lang. Gusto lang talaga nila na organized lahat.
Also considered: We originally booked Caleruega in Tagaytay but after we computed the cost for an OOT wedding , we decided to have the wedding in Manila
Rate: Php12,000 (3 hours rent) + Php5,000 (Extra charge for cables, set-up fees etc) + Php20,000 (Security deposit-refundable)
Rating: @@@@
Pros: Price was very affordable to have a ballroom type of ambiance and already fully air-conditioned, wall to wall carpeting with amazing chandelier type of lighting fixtures and a stage.The walls also have a distinct iron wrought design that gives it life. The price also includes the security, technician and janitors for the washroom. It has its own cocktail area that was the perfect place for our registration table, photobooth and well errmm cocktails of course! Not to mention a lot of parking space!
Cons: There are a lot of extra charges for the set-up time (100/hour – no aircon with lights), total electricity consumed, OT pay for the security, janitors and technician. All of these were charged to us after the event and were charged to the security deposit. Okay lang siya generally since cheap naman yung rental ng place. I just wish na may transparency doon sa ibang charges.
Also considered: We originally booked Sonya's Garden then Balai Indang. We also considered the poolside area of Forbeswood Heights Condo in the Fort

Pros- I love dealing with Kar, she’s very accommodating and she has a lot of ideas na in synch dun sa gusto ko. We booked them during a wedding fair in Megamall last Feb 2008. We tasted the hoisin chicken wrap and right then and there Ryan and I decided to book them. We had 2 food tastings with them. First was last May and the 2nd one Sept 9- we finalized the menu, table arrangement and the drinks.
Table set-up: 5+++++
I love the table set up! The Flowers were very nice and the tablecloth complemented the dark wood panels in PSE. Ryan and I bought turquoise colored feathers in Divi for added effect and napagkatuwaan siya ng mga guests.
Food:5+++++
The guests were raving about the food, and it was a joy for us that a lot (if not everyone) loved the food. We decided to forego the soup in her package and customize everything so it will fit our budget. Ryan and I was just sad that we were only able to eat a few cocktails and just barely touched our food. We forgot to tell the head waiter to pack some for us! Shux. But K by Cunanan was one of the best decisions we made!
Service:5+++++
We cannot say anything wrong with their service. Kar was very accommodating with our requests and she made sure that everything was set and it was all for a smile, no extra charge! =) The waiters served well to the guests in the presidential table and they were very quick on their feet. Also, instead of wines, we asked K by Cunanan if they can prepare Sangria (cocktail drink) for the guest, naka-save kami ng malaki sa liquor because of the Sangria plus masarap siya which the guests really enjoyed.

Pros- I only met Emily Uy once in Makati Shang, and during this meeting she sketched a cake design for me plus we had the cake tasting at the same time. When I first met her, I really didn’t have any idea on how I want my cake to look like so what we did, she asked us what are our interests, color motif and the likes thus she came up with a coffee inspired cake. As a twist, she incorporated feathers and some fresh flowers.

Cons: For the payment, what we did is just deposit the remaining balance in her Metrobank account. We’ve been exchanging sms re the payment so I thought okay na. Come wedding day, she asked Dindi about the payment. I think nakalimutan ni Emily na settled na lahat. Good thing natago ko yung deposit slip.

Pros- If you are looking for the so called “most bang for the buck”, then Jayson and Joanne Arquiza of Redefine Weddings will surely give you the best clicks for your buck..hehe. They take beautiful pictures that will just make you stare at it over and over. They always make it a priority to build a wonderful rapport with the couple during the pre-nup pictorial. On the Big day, we were already very comfortable while they were taking our pictures. Nagulat kami na ang daming kumukuha ng pictures namin since in the contract stated na 2 photogs lang pero siyempre okay lang yun kasi ang daming pics. We had fun with Jayson’s 2nd photog- Ems Chua, sobrang nag-enjoy kami with the Redefine Weddings team. They even gave us a gift, which was a framed photo of their favorite shot of us taken during the pre-nup.

Pros: Sandro was Ryan’s classmate since Prep in Ateneo, and their friendship grew as the years went by. As his gift to us, he wanted to take pictures from our preparations to the reception. He is still relatively young in the photography business, but his keen eye for detail and his ability to direct people to take the perfect pictures is already there. He is an up and coming photographer and better watch out for him in the near future.
Cons: Since he is Ryan’s friend, Ryan kept on telling Sandro to stop taking pictures during the reception so that he can enjoy our wedding. Of course he was still our guest and we wanted to make sure he was well taken care of.
Rating: Waiting for final ouput
Pros: We originally booked Jezreel Cruz but decided later on that we want him to focus on the onsite avp instead. We got the 1 video package since video is the least of our priorities. The guy from Redefine Weddings taking the video was unobtrusive and he’s very nice.
Cons: None

Pros-
Prenup AVP: Parang MTV style ang video na ginawa ni Jez and we had fun during the shoot. Since sinabay namin siya with the prenup pictorial sobrang nag-enjoy kami. We used the song “Breathe In, Breathe Out” by Matt Kearney and it fits the whole concept of the video.
Onsite Video: I love our onsite avp. We used the song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz since we don’t want the traditional slow song since hindi bagay sa personality naming ni Ryan.
Cons: None- sobrang daling kausap ni Jez

Pros:I met them once in Glorietta and decided to book them right away. I relied on the feedback in w@w and they are one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. I just gave them the repertoire and asked them to sing my chosen bridal march song “For Only You” by Trisha Yearwood. I love Diane’s rendition of the song. They sang really really well and I just love them. Our principal sponsors enjoyed listening to the songs and they kept on asking us about their rate, they thought expensive choir sila haha if they only knew.
Cons: None

Pros: Missy is soo sweet and she’s easy to deal with. I booked her even without meeting her and yung 1st meeting naming is 1 week before the wedding where we finalized the program. On our wedding day, she was so perky and bubbly and the guests enjoyed the program. I gave her control on the program flow and she just coordinated with Dindi so I don’t have to worry about the sequence. All the guests had a blast with the garter and bouquet game and Missy’s hirit really made the crowd go ga-ga haha. Everybody thought we were relatives dahil parang close na daw kami.

Pros: I love talking to Me-ann. First meeting naming umabot kami ng 2 hours hehe can you imagine kung gaano kami kadaldal?! I told her na I wanted to have mood lighting since gusto kong magmukhang kakaiba ang PSE. I told her I’m not particular with the color of the mood lights basta meron. We also availed of the sound system, we just provided them with CD’s na patutugtugin during the reception para naman yung songs na gusto namin yung i-pe-play.

Rate: Php11,000 (Cymbidium Orchids for my bouquet, 2 bouquets for the moms-roses, carnations & yellow cymbidium orchids, 15 bouquets for the entourage and female principal sponsors- roses & carnations, flower for the car)
Rating: @@@@@@@@@@
Pros: We are supposed to have drapes for the reception but decided weeks before the wedding na huwag na siya ituloy since overbudget na kami. Good thing madaling kausap si Lawrence. Regarding the flowers, hindi niyaa tinipid yung flowers nung entourage, sobrang siksik ng flowers and it really looks expensive. It was his first time na gumawa ng pink roses and carnations na combo and he liked it- well, I love it!
Cons: There was one time na nagkaroon kami ng miscommunication re the mood lighting, turns out na nakalimutan niya lang. My advice, just make sure you have everything in writing!

Pros: I just want to share with you my testimonial to Cecil’s work. Nandoon na lahat ng gusto ko sabihin about him.
I first met Cecil last January 18, 2008. Ryan and I were still scouting for a designer of my wedding gown. I already made some research before and I was confident that Cecile is one of the best people in the industry; I knew my gown was in safe hands. However, due to budget constraints, we decided to approach another designer, and it was one horrendous mistake.
Fast forward, close to 2 weeks before the wedding, I was very disappointed with the outcome of my wedding gown. The skirt was bulging in the wrong places, and the fitting made me look bigger. The beadwork was not in line with my taste. The bolero and even the veil just seemed wrong. This gown caused me sleepless nights and wedding day nightmares DAYS before my wedding. I really wanted to feel like a bride and with the gown that I had, it was impossible.
After sulking over this, I finally said to myself that I had enough. I texted Cecil on the early morning of Sept 18 (few days before my wedding) and was literally asking his help to alter my gown and help save my big day. He replied to go to his shop and that was when my fortunes have turned for me. He was very accommodating and he made me feel that everything was going to be okay. He finally gave me that sigh of relief that I was going feel like how a bride should be, beaming with pride and with joy written all over my face. He first asked me to fit my old gown, and I was not surprised that and he decided to make me a new gown. He drew a sketch, and this almost brought me to tears because I loved what he had in mind. I knew he was really heaven sent!
It was an emotional roller coaster ride for Ryan and I was very happy that Cecil and his whole team were with me during the ride. I am grateful to Ekyat, Marcy and Clayton for all the help. For making me feel that "this is it! I'm going to be a radiant bride on my wedding day" and to Cecil, for being such a good person, for helping me kahit last minute. He really made me feel like a bride. I love my wedding gown, from the lace to the intricate beadworks. Added bonus is the bag they made for me- I really loved it!
My friends loved the gown and they were raving on how well made it was. My boss(who is half-Indonesian) said that the gown looks expensive (wow!). Angie and Ogie even commented on how beautiful the gown was and how it brought out my radiance that is fit for a bride. I know that this gown only took 7 days to make. But because of this the memories that it left me will be part of me and will be cherished for a lifetime..

Pros: Good thing the entourage gown was well made. I was the one who decided on the fabric and the style of the gown. We decided to have cocktail dresses para magamit pa nila sa ibang okasyon.
Cons: I really don’t like the beads she used for the gown, good thing maganda naman siyang tingnan sa pictures.
Rate: Php11,500 (Bride+2 Heads+Groom+1 extra)+ Php1,500 for the trial make-up

Pros-
Trial make-up: They were very early during the TMU and we instantly hit it off. I love them! Sobrang funny and they can be frank but just let them be since nagpapakatotoo lang sila. Angie used Shu Uemura products which is good for asian skin so nag-blend well siya sa skin ko.
Wedding day: They were the first to arrive din sa Astoria and natuwa naman sila na ready na ako for my make up. Mabilis gumawa si Angie and Ogie, malinis and that’s what I love about their work. Since I have a round face contouring lang ang ginawa ni Angie and for Ogie, binagay niya yung hair ko sa shape ng face ko. Angie is not fond of using false eyelashes and natuwa ako because mahabang tingnan yung lashes ko. For the reception, he added a Swarovski headband and yun another look na siya instantly. Ogie was raving pa nga since kaka-book lang sa kanya ni Cheska Garcia that time and he did John Lloyd’s hair for a commercial kaya kuwentuhan galore-paano ka ba naman kakabahan di ba?!.

Pre-wedding: Dindi is such an OC! Even if I booked her for an OTD coordination, she made it a point to meet up with me to polish all the details for the wedding. Ako pa nga yung clueless minsan sa mga pinapagawa niya. Siya pa ang nangungulit for meetings and of course after every meeting I feel may na-accomplish ako
Wedding day: They were very organized and they made sure I don’t have to worry about a thing. She made sure that I won’t go through all the hassle of paying the suppliers and other minor glitches basta I love Dindi and her team.

Pros: We booked the 1 bedroom unit and okay naman siya. Malaki na rin and kasya ang lahat ng suppliers.
Cons: I really don’t like the service, upon check in pa lang nakaaway ko na yung guy sa front desk. Since we booked 2 days and paid the 1st day in full during reservation, the guy from the front desk asked us to pay for the 2nd day na rin na nagulat ako because upon reservation ang sabi sa amin we just have to pay the security deposit worth Php3,000 and the rest upon check-out. Credit card pa naman ni Ryan ang gagamitin namin and he’s in Antipolo that time. The guy requested na baka puwedeng mag-drop by si Ryan sa Astoria just to pay so I was really furious! I told the guy that I wlll call Ryan and siya na lang ang makapag-usap dahil inis na inis na talaga ako. Also, medyo madumi yung room pagdating naming-may dust doon sa TV and mukhang hindi siya nalinis mabuti. May leak sa bathroom and weird ang water heater nila.

Cons: Nakakapagod lang mag-cut and magdikit!
