The life of a Bride

Newlywed bliss!

Now that the wedding is over, and the stressful planning has come to an end we can slow down and savor our first year as newlyweds. Getting married has changed everything!!! We couldn't be closer as a couple. Our lives are now totally in sync and our marriage is happy and fulfilled. I'm still not used to signing my new last name, but everytime I do it makes me smile. Keith and I have our 'Happily Ever After' fairytale life and feel blessed everyday.

Our Last Marital Prep Class

Keith and I have completed our marital preparation courses and had our last session today. Today we didn't talk about any type of skill, instead we ended our courses with a final prayer session. Keith and I wrote a letter to eachother, sealed it in an envelope and have decided not to give it to eachother until the night of the wedding. Sharon and Ray read a prayer and lit a candle symbolizing our love and the changes it will make and how it will mold us together. When we got to reading from...

Dress Showing Luncheon

It was perfect! Kathleen made an gorgeous spred full of tea sandwiches, pink lemonade, and amazing fruit tarts. It was so dainty.  I had a little bit of the jitters. putting on my dress always gets me choked up and excited. I was just so happy to be able to have my dress on again. My Mom got to see the dress for the first time. She LOVED it! I got to try it with my neclace and headpiece. I hand-made my neclace and bouquet. Everything looks AMAZING! I can't wait to put it on the...

4 MONTHS!

Four months, and 19 Days until the big day and I still have so much to do! I'm running out of time! The pressure is starting to build. I'm enjoying every minute of it, but I can't help but be a little scared and anxious that I won't have enough time to get it all done.

My THIRD dress fitting... And COUNTING...

When Kathleen, Liana and I arrived, we were shuffled around to the back. We couldn't find Michelle (the seamstress from last time.) Liana went into the back with me and helped me get it on. IT FIT! IT FIT! I wasn't pulling it up, it sat where it was supposed to. it felt amazing! Unfortunately, that was the only thing that was right about the whole fitting.... I walked out, tripping on the underskirt. The addition   had wasn't put on the dress correctly, that weird poofy thing was...

My Second dress fitting

I brought Liana, (one of my bridesmaids) to Chico with me for the second fitting. We went a day early to spend some time with Shiela. It's so fun coming down to Chico and spending more time with my Sis. Kathleen came down as well, so I had my Sister, Liana and Kathleen there. THANK GOODNESS! I went into the back and put the dress on..... It didn't fit...... The dress is a size 0... they took it in a size adding the lace up corset in the back, and it STILL didnt fit. The bussle wasn't...

DAVIDS BRIDAL AHHHH

Davids Bridal called my house at 10PM, so NATURALLY I was a little nervous. They called to ask me if I would be able to change my appointment from April 22, (8 Days from now) to JUNE 30th!!!! I was a little shocked. Thinking maybe there's a problem with the dress... "Why??" I asked "Oh, well we've been hit really hard with Prom, and I see here that your wedding is in Ovtober, so would it be alright if we moved your pickup date?" Changing my date from 8 days to 2 months seemed a little too...

My first dress fitting

Today was my first dress fitting.  The day before I heard a story from one of the women I work with about how David's bridal ordered the wrong dress for her and she doesn't know if she'll get it in time for her wedding. I was stressed out the moment I heard her story. "What if my dress is wrong? What if it comes in red?... What if it's the right dress, just not the right size?" It took 3 months for it to come in. Was I really prepared for them to make an error??? This morning...

Wedding expo

I've decided today that everything is going by WAYYY to fast! I've started making a video diary of the planning fun and excitement. I really think I'm going to miss planning my wedding once it's all over. I started the video with the bridal expo. It should be called "Bridal Zoo"! It was INSANE! Hundreds of brides under one roof fighting for space to talk to local vendors throwing elbows to get the last business card and free piece of chocolate. I was a little bumbed that I would have to face...

I FOUND MY DRESS!

Lauren and I headed off to Chico to try again. I had high hopes that the dress I had envisioned exsited, but after 5 dresses my faith was getting a little shaken. The women at Davids bridal were wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. The assistant asked me if I liked any of the 5 I tried on enough to buy. I said they were beautiful, but I didn't think any of them were 'the dress'. I described my dream dress to her one more time and she came back with another dress. Lauren was such a trooper....
