Pat and Maggie, you two are such a joy together. Both Kris and I wish you all the love, joy, and luck this marrige will bring. Congrats!
What joy to be able to share in the joining of Pat and Maggie. May their joy only multiply through the years! Alex and I will be there with bells on! Love you both!
I am so happy for you--what a wonderful day is coming up for you on Saturday. You have SO MANY people sending good thoughts and best wishes your way. I so wish I could be among those present, but I am glad to be among those who will be with you in spirit. May you have many more years of living and loving together. Love, Helen
What greater pleasure than to know our friends have found happiness with each other. Although we will not be with you on September 6th, our fondest wishes for your happiness will shower you with joy. Let the celebration begin and may it continue throughout your lives.
Warmly,
Toni and Thomas

You two are truly inspirational.

I wish you all the best!

You're fortunate, Virginia could progress to such laws someday. Our state claims Virginia is for LOVERS-- But not so much! With Our Love, Carolyn and Ernie.
PW NOTE: I am from Virginia, so I know of the truth that Carolyn and Ernie speak.
Dear Pat and Maggie,
What a momentous occasion that I'll miss.
Preparing for the Radical Women 41st Anniversary Conference is my top priority right now. Will keynote on the first day, Oct. 3rd and will lead a workshop on Poetry & Rebellion.

HI SEE YOU SOON
Hi Pat and Maggie,
I think of you both so often and delight in hearing about your career successes and continued efforts on behalf of human rights. I have great memories of our times in San Diego...remember the garage sale, when Pat and I kept buying each other's stuff? I'm really sorry I can't be there for your wedding celebration. I pray that your union continues to bring you both great happiness, love, health, and courage to continue bringing about change. I'll be thinking about you on September 6 and sending hugs all the way from Missouri.
Love you!
Patti
Dear Pat and Maggie,
I haven't known you long, but am honored to have you both as friends. I have the highest respect for you, your principles and the work that you do, and I am so pleased to be included in your celebration. Love to you both and congratulations, Claudia
We've been enjoying you various mailings (uspo and cptr)and will be sending praise and advice (uspo). This is just to say in summary WONDERFUL !!!
Pat Washington!
How have you been? It's been so long since we've talked. I've been meaning
to email you to see if you'd like to grab some coffee or lunch. However,
I've just recently received some great and exciting news of your big day
so I couldn't wait to email you and express my wishes. You know I'm really
happy for both you and Maggie and could only wish you the best because
both of you deserve the best! Marriage shouldn't be held from two
individuals who truly and absolutely care for each other and I'm just glad
this can happen for you. From the time I've gotten to know you and Maggie
I've gained two great friends in my life that have taught me so much on
how to engage with people critically, and find others who have the same
passion to educate and be educated about present and past social issues
that continue to have an impact on mine and others lives. My wishes go out
to both of you to have another 16 years and many more years of this happy
union. I also hope we can get together and catch up through some lunch :).
Best,
Jasmine
We are so very happy for you both! You are amazing individually and even more amazing as a team. We love you!
Hey Pat,
Congratulations to you and Maggie. May your new life together be filled with bliss, love, learning and good community.
Sending love to you,

Congratulations Pat and Maggie and thank you very much for your wedding invitation. I'm sorry I will not be able to attend your joyous celebration but I will be with you in spirit.
Best wishes to both of you and I can't wait to finally meet you in person.
Wishing you life long happiness,

We are so happy for you and love hearing details. We have not RSVPd yet
because we are trying to find a way to make it a yes. We will keep you
posted. Lisa and Kim
Dear Pat & Maggie,
Carina and I offer our most exuberant congratulations, and only wish we could attend. We know the joy and fun will be with you!
I so wish I could share this happy day with you two. You both have become part of my second family down in San Diego, and helped to make my first year of college the most inspiring, invigorating, exciting, and enlightening year of my life so far. You both are such amazingly strong women. I only hope that my own path will lead me to inspire other as you two have inspired me. Again, I wish so much I could be there! Much Love!
Carson
Sheryl told me about your upcoming wedding plans. You don't know how happy I am for you. I love this website and can feel the love from both you as well as your family and friends. It is hard for me as a Californian to know that ALL of my friends and family can now get married except for me. (Of course, I need to find wife first, but that is besides the point. hahahah). I'll be in town beginning Aug 28 and don't leave again until Sept 3rd. I know that you'll be crazy busy, but I may call you to see how things are going. Blessings, blessings, blessings my sisters. Go in peace.
I will be there in spirit and wish I could attend.
Congratulations! We are very happy for you!
Dear Pat Washington and dear Maggie Allington,
As I suffer from pancreatic cancer, a disease that calls for expensive medicine and as I turned 80 this past April, it is difficult for me to send contributions even for worthy causes.
Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage. I wish you many more years of happiness together. I love the quotation on your announcement card by Coretta Scott King. She was a wonderful human being. All my best to you. Marthe

Pat and Maggie, thank you so much for inviting me (and Rob) to such a beautiful celebration. I am honored and inspired by your love for each other. Your love puts a needle to its grooveeeeeeeeeeee...
Dear Maggie and Pat, I would absolutely love to come and am terribly disappointed that I can't make it. I have company coming down from San Francisco that weekend for the opera, etc. Yours is the second wedding on 9/6 that I've had to turn down, and it's the one I definitely hate to miss. Dance all night for me! Blessings! Love, Kay
Hi, Pat and Maggie! What wonderful news! Yet again, I wish it we were closer. I don't think we will be able to come, though we tried to juggle schedules and budgets. But our good thoughts and much love will be sent your way! And we do hope to come visit you in 2009! Love, Helen and Bill
Congratulations, Pat and Maggie! I am so happy for you both! I will not be able to attend because I am hosting my grand-twins' sixteenth birthday celebration at my home. I will send a donation in response to your written invitation. May God continue to bless each of you.
Love,
Dorothy

Dear Pat and Maggie,
I was overjoyed to hear that you two are getting married! You are a beautiful couple and you deserve a wonderful, long life together. It makes me feel so frustrated and angry that something as simple and pure as love between two people has to be fought for state by state, country by country and there are still so many men and women denied this most fundamental of rights. Love is a beautiful bond between people and there is something wrong with the world if some people can feel so threatened by it or so self righteous in their own beliefs that they would deny the opportunity for others to express their commitment and protect their fundamental family rights just because they are the same gender. I find it even more upsetting that the state and federal governments that should protect the rights of their citizens would instead invoke obstacles to prevent them from attaining those rights. I hope the day will finally come when all of us respect and love each other enough to celebrate every wedding with joy! And I can’t wait to celebrate yours!
Hearty congratulations and love!
Carol Singer
Dear Pat and Maggie,

From Pat and Maggie to Mandy Carter and others like her:
You are awesome. All those years of laboring in various organizations and individually-- being one of the ones who knew all along the importance of meaningful coalitions, being clear that you would not leave your identity at the door for anyone. Mandy Carter, this public celebration of ours is partially to honor and respect, validate and give homage to your struggles on our behalf and your will that we would eventually see this day. We love, value and respect you more than you could imagine. Pat and Maggie
Congratulations — I was so happy to hear your good news! What a great time in history, it’s one of the things that makes me sorry I’m not still living in California or at least registered to vote there. And of course living in Washington, I miss seeing you as well. You don’t have to hold a wedding just to get me to visit! Are you holding the wedding as a ploy to get me to visit? Wow, 16 years — that’s 4 presidential terms! Let’s see, that would mean nearing the end of George Bush’s presidency, the U.S. had been fighting a war in Iraq and our country was in a recession... but things certainly have changed since then — you live in California now and don’t have to worry about shoveling snow (unless climate change gets really wild). Anyway, congratulations, congratulations, I’ll see you soon! So what are you going to do to get me to visit next time?
COngratulations! We are so happy for you! much love, Anne & Dan
Thank you for the invitation! I'm sorry I won't be able to join you. My partner and I were married today-- No on Prop 8! Emma

P. S. Dear Maggie and Pat, we wish we could be there but we will be out of town that week. We celebrated our marriage July 10, 2008 on the anniversary of our 33 years together. Please accept our very best wishes for you both with love. Mike & Ernie.
We're looking forward to the ceremony. But, are you two really sure you are ready??? After all, you've only been together 16 years!!!
Dear Pat: how perfectly lovely! All my thoughts and prayers will be with you!

Annis
Dear Pat and Maggie,
Thank you for the invitation to your wedding celebration. I'm so happy for both of you. My daughter, Lauren is relocating to New York City and she's leaving on Sept. 6th.
Have a wonderful day-- you deserve it!
Fondly,
Rozanne
We are looking forward to seeing you at our wedding this week and would not miss your wedding!
Love, respect, understanding, maturity, commitment to something greater than yourselves, humor, consistency, diversity of interest and outlook, ability to expand your extended family, dedication to what you believe and a shinning example to others are the foundation of your loving relationship and eternal devoution to each other. I wish you the very best day of both of your lives. love mike aguirre
Pat & Maggie,
What wonderful news! I am so happy for you both.
After the many years both of you have spent fighting for justice and equality in so many different civil rights movements, it is poetic for you to be able to enjoy this newly won right. Congratulations!
Jason and I wish you continued happiness and many years of love and joy together.
Best always,
Todd
P.S. Hurry back from the honeymoon. We need you back in the campaign office. I can't win Council District 3 without you both!!
Yes! Will attend your wedding celebration with pleasure! Yes! I'm thrilled!!!
Pat and Maggie: George Eliot once said of marriage, "What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen each other in all labour, to minister to each other in all sorrow, to share with each other in all gladness, to be one with each other in the silent unspoken memories?"
In honor of your joining in marriage, I have made a donation to the Center Advoccy Project to help ensure that the right to marriage equality can never be taken away from you.
Congratulations and may you have many happy years together.
Love, Bruce
