Cameron has been one of my best friends in college. She has helped me through countless trials and been such a rock for me to depend on. She and I both share a love and passion for traveling and a love for deep conversation over a good cup of coffee. She is the most encouraging person I know and I am so thankful for her friendship.
I cannot say enough good things about Jessica (or Diva Muffin as we call her in our apartment). She is the most loyal and dependable person that I know. Jessica has a love for life that I could only hope for. No matter what time of day or what she has to do, she will drop everything to help, love, encourage or listen to someone else. She has the biggest heart and most joyful spirit of anyone that I have ever known. I don't know what will happen when she no longer lives a somersault away.
I met Frankie on a mission trip to Japan two summers ago. Never have I become so close with someone so fast. The trip wouldn't have been the same without her. She is a woman after God's own heart and I love her passion for life. Frankie is always up for trying something new and I can always count on her to help me make a new craft or to participate in our "bash" nights at my apartment. She loves to spontaneously stop in and stay for a few hours or even spend the night on our couch after talking for too long. I love her so much and know that our friendship will withstand the test of all the years to come.
Sarah is one of my closest friends. She and I met in Honduras my sophmore year of college. She has such a sweet heart and values relationships more than anyone I know. Sarah is so honest and dependable, and I have appreciated her candor and loyalty. I love her laugh, and think she has the classiest style about her. She is open and always willing to go out and have a good time. Even though we have had seasons where we were closer than others, I can't imagine my college experience without her.
Evie is such a beautiful person to me. She is so caring, encouraging, and always willing to listen to anyone. She is the "Grandma" of our apartment. Evie is the most productive person I know and is so good at organizing and being clean...something Jessica and I know very little about. She loves people with her whole heart and will do anything for anyone. For being young, she has so much godly wisdom and maturity. I look up to her so much and look forward to the ways God will use her in the future.
Lauren is my better half. She and I worked together in Montreat the summer after our freshman year in college. That is a summer we remember with joy because we met each other, but also with some level of frustration due to the challenges that we experienced there. Lauren is one of my closest friends and my life would not be the same without her. She is so solid, and has been one of those friends that I can always pick up with whenever we get to see each other. She is honest, open, reliable, sincere, genuine, encouraging and loving. She appreciates the "little" things in life and shares a passion for Spanish and missions with me. She studied abraod in Spain when I did, and is currently in Mexico for the year working with Adventures in Missions.
I have two favorite memories with Theresa. She and I lived on the same hall freshman year, and one night it was so cold and we were positive that we wouldn't have school. So she and another girl ran into everyones room and told us to get our laundry baskets and put on warm clothes. So all of us bundled up and spent hours sliding down the ramps of the parking deck outside our dorm, because the ice was so slick and thick. Unfortunately, school was not cancelled and we all had to get up an hour or two after we had gotten in bed. :( The second memory was that during the week of Valentine's Day our freshman year, Patrick kept lots of different colored roses in her room to give me throughout the week. So even from the beginning Theresa has helped orchestrate various activities between Patrick and I. She is so positive and uplifting, and always willing help wherever she can. She and I are both in graduate school at UGA now and have to keep motivating each other to keep studying!
Jacquelyn is one of the smartest, most honest and loving person that I know. She is so open to meeting and getting to know all different kinds of people, and love them for who they are. She is such a rock and is always willing to pray and fight for things with me. I value her tendency to be there for anyone at the drop of a hat. My roommates have dubbed her "Wacky Jackie" because she always wants to have fun and try new things. She and I hope that our occasional biting sarcasm will not push people away, but rather draw them closer. :)
The best for last...I love Melanie more than words can express. She and I lived on the same hall freshman year, did a Bible study together for two years, and she and I lived in the same apartment our senior year. We have had millions of amazing memories and good times together. I love her carefree attitude and ability to work hard to accomplish goals that she sets. She has such a loving heart and is the most spontaneous person I know. She is so wise and I love coming to her for advice. I appreciate her ability to listen well and be honest regardless of the situation. She is so instrumental in helping me to become the person I am today and for that I am eternally grateful.
If there is anyone that I am most like it is my dad. I think people who know us both would say we were carved out of the same mold. The person I have grown into today has, in large part, been the result of what I have learned and seen modeled at home. I can't think of a more fitting best man than the terrific example of living and loving that I've had for 22 years.
Bryan's my brother. He's a cadet in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and a member of Air Force ROTC. We've always shared a common love for sports, especially baseball. Yes, we fight like brothers, but at the end of the day we know we can rely on each other for prayer, support, and friendship.
Doug and I were paired up together as pot luck roommates freshman year. When all was said and done, we lived together all four years of college. Doug is a great confidant, sounding board, and friend. He is also the expert on all things SEC, especially Georgia football.
Clay was one of my Bible study leaders for the past year. He has challenged me and encouraged me. He loves the Lord and desires to see those around him pursuing hard after God. He's been a loyal and honest friend and one for which I'm eternally greatful.
Walter has a dry humor and a quick wit that always keep me on my toes. As Mary's brother, I have gotten to know him over the past four years and have come to appreciate his subtle sense of irony. Walter is as well-read as anyone I know, so I know he can always catch me up on a wide array of subject matter.
Ryan and I lived in Myers for two years, and he joined our apartment senior year. I think out of all the guys I've lived with, Ryan and I are the most alike. He's been an encouragement as we discuss relationships, the positive parts and the frustrating. He has an attitude of service, and he's a great friend.
Chris is another Myers alum. He also lived in our apartment for two years. His laughter could fill a theater and is contagious. By the time he graduated, he had mastered the art of working or studying no more than was necessary. He always called out the rest of us if we had our nose in the books for too long.
Andrew is the oldest friend on this crew. A friend since early in high school, we played baseball together and went to the same church. Despite going to different universities, we have stayed in touch and remained close. When we're both home during vacations, we're able to pick back up as if we'd never missed a beat.
Ben and I lived in Myers together for two years at the University of Georgia. We've been camping and hiking together various times, and we've crafted or been invoved in numerous devious plots and pranks. Ben is an Eagle Scout and a great resource to have when planning an outdoor excursion.
Noah is the son of my cousin Jeffrey. We are so honored to have him as a part of our wedding. We've recently learned that he thinks he's also getting married. He already has a bride his own age picked out that he wants to marry.
