We woke up Friday Feb. 13, 2009, yes, Friday the 13th! And Peter said "I have a surprise for you!" The first thing I said was, "Are you gonna kill me?" (Being that it was Friday the 13th and all) With a laugh, he said "NO". And then the guessing began. He wanted me to come with him to his voice job so I of course thought that there was some big star there that I wanted to see! My guesses were Mickey Mouse (it's Michael Eisner's company), Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, and then finally Ceasar Milan the Dog Whisperer, to which Peter replied, "yea honey, Ceasar is not doing voiceover work." A girl can dream!
Anywho, we showed up to his voice job in Beverly Hills, but kept on walking. I asked where we were going, and then we stopped at a spa door. He had arranged a manicure and pedicure appointment for me while he did his voice job!!!! I cried and said "I thought we said no gifts for Valentines day!"
After my amazing treatments we got in the car and he just started driving. Next thing I know, we end up at LAX!!! I said "we can't go anywhere, we don't have any bags." He said "we don't?" and then popped the trunk. I ran around to find 2 packed bags in our trunk!! At this point I really lost it! I cried and jumped up and down. I asked where we were going and he handed me a piece of paper and said to plug that info in at the airport and I would find out!
So off to the airport in a shuttle we went! I was guessing all sorts of places! When we finally got to the check in, I plugged in our confirmation number and all of a sudden MAUI HAWAII pops up!!!! I totally and completely lost it right there! I was crying and jumping up and down and the woman next to us was taking our pictures! Needless to say I was VERY surprised! So, we get to Maui and we go have a couple of Mai Tais. After, Peter wanted to walk down through the property and near the beach. I was cold, but we walked around anyways. He stops and asks "do you like it here?" to which I look up at the stars and all around and say yes, it's beautiful, etc. Then he grabs my face and kisses me and after says, "that is the last time I'm going to kiss you as your boyfriend." I was like "huh?!" Then he says "I don't want another Valentine's day to go by where you're not more to me than just a girlfriend" I still was clueless. And then it happens! He gets down on one knee!!! He says to me that "a long time ago, you said all it took was a twist tie around your finger, well I couldn't wait any longer." And then he pulls a ring box out and says, "will you marry me sara?" I look in and there is a little yellow twist tie that he has made into a ring!!!! I laugh and cry and say "yes, yes, of course I will!!!" I start to put it on my finger, Peter is still down on his knee, and then I say, "wait, shouldn't you do this part(put it on)?" And then he says, "I think I'd rather put this on your finger." AND THEN HE PULLS OUT ANOTHER RING BOX!!!!! And asks me to marry him AGAIN!!! He opens the box, and there is my Grandmother Memee's ring that he got from my Dad. I got down on my knees and hugged and kissed Peter while we laughed and he put the ring on!!! Right after, we saw a couple walking by and had them take our picture and then we ran out on the beach and screamed, "WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!" We went back up to our room, had champagne, and made LOTS of phone calls!! I didn't sleep a wink! For the rest of the weekend, we watched tons of whales jumping out of the water and had the most incredible weekend ever!
Peter did a magnificent job!!!! A day I will NEVER forget!
