We met through friends a few years ago, but didn't actually hold a true conversation until Halloween of 2007. We began dating right away, and it went from there. We now have a beautiful baby boy Isaac, as well as Rachel's 7 year old son Azriel.
I was up doing laundry when Ian came home on Nov. 5, 2008. He told me he was glad I was still up and that we really needed to talk. He started saying "I just don't think things are working out the way they are any more. There are some things between us that need to change and I just don't think this is working anymore. So I have some bad news to tell you. I didn't buy a ring." He got down on his knees and asked me to marry him. He said he wanted to go longer, but I looked like I was going to cry. I was so happy he asked me to marry him, I couldn't be mad about the proposal.
We had a blast in Vegas! Our Wedding was AMAZING. It was at 8:30AM on May 9th 2009. The weather was perfect! The venue was beautiful and we had the whole grounds to ourselves. I walked down the Isle to Cannon in D, one of our favorite songs. Both Ace and my dad walked me down the isle and gave me away. The ceremony it's self was actually pretty fun, the officiant had a great sense of humor, which both of us thought was great!!! We brought both of our boys up to light the unity candle with us (Kelsey Isaac since he wasn't really allowed to help), then we had a reading especially for them about how they are also an important part of the wedding. It was really nice, I wasn't terribly thrilled with the photographer, she really didn't listen to the photo ideas I wanted and just kept taking posed portrait pics, so my parents took some more in the style I wanted later on.
After the wedding we went back to our hotel room for a nap (we had to be up at 4AM to get ready), and amazingly enough I woke up with my hair still perfect. I found out later that was due to the 82 bobby pins (yes I counted) and the half a bottle of hair spray in it. It was an hour worth of a royal pain to get out that night, but defiantly worth it.
After our nap, I changed out of my dress and into a white corset and jeans (hair was still perfect), since i didn't want to ruin my dress on the Vegas strip, and walked to the Venetian for Dinner at Wolf Gang Pucks Postrio Restaurant. DELICIOUS!!!
o We would just like to give a special thanks to our parents who were amazing and very generous to us throughout the wedding planning and our big day, to David Halpern and Amy King who stood with us at the wedding, Kelsey Rapp who helped with my makeup and Ian's hair, and held Isaac for us during the ceremony, and to everyone who came to our parties to celebrate with us. You all made this day so amazing, THANK YOU!!!
