SHE SAID...

I was driving home from the mall one night when I passed one of my friends' favorite hangouts, 121. One night, I chanced upon them drinking there so I decided to drop by and say hello.

I had no where else to sit but beside Raul. We were introduced and I already found him cute. Slightly "feeling" but cute. Haha!

My friends would let me tell stories about my "drunk days", and no matter what story I had, Raul had something better! I remember thinking "feeling!!" But hey, the image of him stuck, and he made an impression.

We didn't see each other again for a few months until I hosted a despedida party for my cousin last December 2005. Our friend Chicho asked if he could bring a friend, and that friend was Raul. We got to talk a little bit that night, and we all made plans in going out to watch a movie or gimmick one night.

Our good friend Chicho set us up when he saw how good we were for each other. He planned a dinner in Greenbelt but none of them showed up, it was just me and Raul.

We got to talk the whole night and got to know each other. Then... What can I say! Raul fell in love with me! Hahaha!

Right babe?

The Proposal

Sabs tells the story...
The Proposal

"I was feeling so down one Friday morning. I was talking to Raul and I was telling him my thoughts... Just rambling. Then, out of nowhere he just came out and said 'pakasal na tayo'. I didn't take him seriously because I thought he was just telling me in passing. I remember joking him 'i-dinner mo naman ako!'.

That Sunday, after our weekly family dinner, I was inside my room sending an email. I had no idea that he was already talking to my parents asking for my hand in marriage.

The next few days, we were talking about wedding plans but it still hasn't sinked in. I thought that it was just something we were talking about in passing (again...). The following Thursday, he asked me to marry him during lunch, and took me ring shopping so I can choose what I wanted.

I loved it when he said, "I know that this is not the sweetest of proposals. There is no surprise whatsoever, but I want to marry you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
