Our Story
How We Met...
While their eyes first "met" at their local gym...Rob and Betsy did not officially meet until the Summer of 2006. Betsy spotted Rob back in 2004 and was quick to name him her "gym crush". Friends and family would grow to hear many stories about "gym crush" spottings. After seeing Rob out in Downtown Frederick over Thanksgiving of 2005, Betsy was shocked to find out that he had been childhood friends with her best friend's fiance. With persistant nagging and a little bit of luck, fate took over. Once both Rob and Betsy were finally single, Rob followed Betsy from bar to bar until he finally got up the courage to introduce himself. He walked her home from the bar that night and the rest was history!...Few close to the couple still call Rob "Gym Crush" or "Jimmie Crush" to this day.
The Engagement
July 2, 2007
While vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada over the Fourth of July Holiday, Rob (with the help of Betsy's Sister and Brother in law) dragged Betsy out of bed and down to Caesars Palace for a nice dinner. While en route, the group stopped outside of the Bellagio to get a great seat for the water show. As it turned to dusk and 'Luck Be a Lady' by Sinatra came to a end, Rob grabbed Betsy, shared some special words with her...and then got down on one knee to propose. Of course she said yes - and the crowd around them went wild!
Betsy
Introduction
Betsy was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland. After graduating from Towson University in 2002, she made her way back home to be surrounded by family and friends. Betsy has been with the Plamondon Companies for almost 4 years - as the Senior Sales Manager for the Frederick Marriott hotels. In her free time she loves running, yoga, being outside, spending time in Downtown Frederick, and hanging out with friends and family.
Rob
Introduction
Rob was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His family moved to Middletown, Maryland when his father was transferred to Bethesda Naval Hospital. Rob is a West Virginia University Alumni and was a member of their track team. After college he moved back to Maryland to be closer to his family. Rob is a recruiter with Manpower Inc, in Frederick. He enjoys running, going to the gym, playing guitar and hanging out with his friends.
