Ryan and Ivy

Our Story

We were classmates in grade school and gone our separate ways when we reached high school and college. Thanks to the wonder of modern technology, the internet... We were able to contact each other through friendster. It is interesting that for the past two years of working, we are unaware that our office buildings are just a stone throw away from each other yet we have not crossed path due to Ryan's weird work schedule (he is a systems admin at that time for a call center - graveyard shift.) It is really the Great Director's plan that we would see each other again and prepared us to be together for the rest of our life. We are very excited and we are looking forward to spend the rest of our life together. We believe that all fall in its proper place in His most perfect time. We thank the Lord God for giving us the most precious gift in the world - each other, which is a reflection of His amazing and unconditional love.

How did we plan for the wedding? Read on . . .

March 09 2008

It was a busy day for us. We canvassed for the bridal gown and entourage. And after that we attended a wedding expo in PICC sponsored by Themes and Motifs. We were able to book our suppliers for photo and video, and for our rings and arrhae.

March 16 2008

We made arrangements for the church and reception. We have decided to talk to our selected officiating priest, Father Sharkey, a family friend and parish priest of St Michael the Archangel church in Bacoor, Cavite. We also reserved for our reception venue. We were able to sample their food as they have a lunch buffet. Food is delicious without putting a dent in our budget!

March 23 2008

We took a rest for the weekend and bought our first conjugal property, a high-end laptop, but affordable and right for our budget! We decided to get one as we will be doing our website and AVPs on the laptop. I will be needing it for work also.

March 30 2008

We spoke to Arthur regarding flower arrangements of the church. Arthur is very professional and supportive. He gave us lots of tips and information to consider regarding our wedding plans. We are comfortable talking with him, and he gave us the best deal!

April 27 2008

Meet the parents! Me and my parents went to Ivy's place to make things formal. We also had my aunts / uncle and my grandma accompany us. We brought in some food, and everything turned out to be great!

May 18 2008

First thing in the morning we attended mass, had a quick breakfast afterwards and then went on to meet one of our principal sponsors -- Engr. Loreto Elfante. A soft-spoken man, down to earth, and highly successful in life. Later that day, we have decided to pay 50% of the reception fees. We went to Cavite to settle our balance. We tried to negotiate and haggle, but alas, that is the last price.

May 19 2008

Im doing this website and started at 3AM in the morning. I am used to the night shift as my current job requires me to do so. I am happy that things are doing OK. Next project - AVP!

July 06 2008

Went to Josephine Restaurant to finalize everything. Increased the guest list to 150 persons, and added two additional menu items. We were able to secure our contract, and it is good timing because they are on a price increase! We were affected by the price increase, but a little haggling here and there and we were able to pull it down a little bit. Thank God, or else we have way gone over our budget! Josephine Restaurant will also provide the giveaways for our wedding.

July 20 2008

This is a very busy day for us. We visited our supplier for the invitations -- PrintLane. It was decision making once again as we decided on which design we will use for our invitation. After about an hour researching and checking their available designs, we settled for the one that best suits our motif and our budget. After paying 50% downpayment, we then headed to our supplier of gowns for the entourage. Our supplier for the gowns is Celiezze. After about an hour discussing our motif and budget, we had finalized on which material to use for the gown. Paid 50% downpayment and scheduled the gown fitting for the entourage.

July 26 2008

We chose Tina Diaz to create the bride's gown. We visited her shop and handed her our preferred gown, and discussed it with her. She gave her recommendations and after that she took the body measurements of the bride. Next will be the gown fitting in a few weeks!

August 10 2008

We met with our entourage and we went to Celiezze, our gown supplier. Celiezze took their body measurements, and discussed with them the style of the gowns. After that, we went to Max's Restaurant for lunch, our treat to my mom because it is her birthday the following day.

August 17 2008

Visited NicePrint, our photo and video supplier. We checked the sample works of their photographers, and after deciding the best shoots, we decided the photographer who will take our pictures during our big event. We also settled 80% of their fees, and we scheduled a tentative date for our prenuptial shoot. We also contacted Golden Hills, our supplier for the rings and arrhae. We told them that we want our rings to be engraved. We brought the rings back to their office in Galleria, and we were able to get them August 20, engraved with our names and with our wedding date.

August 28 2008

It's Ivy's birthday! I got her a greeting card, and a big stuffed heart. We took the day-off from our respective work. This is a busy day for us. Filed for marriage license and submitted church requirements. Celebrated Ivy's birthday at her place. Her mom cooked spaghetti for lunch. I love you Ivy.

September 06 2008

We printed the misalet to be used for our wedding mass. We decided to do this on our own, as it will be more practical. We canvassed for suppliers, and the rate starts at Php45 each, minimum of 100 pieces! We went to National Bookstore for our papers, bought ink for the printer and we were able to make it. Simple but elegant.

September 13 2008

First gown fitting for the bride! I did not see the initial layout of the gown, Ivy wants it to be kept secret from me til the day of the wedding. I am anxious to see it . . . :)

September 27 2008

Really busy busy day! Once I arrived home after my office shift Friday night from 7PM - 4AM, I decided not to take a nap. Why? Because 4hours after, we will be attending the last seminar so that we will be issued a marriage certificate. I dont want to fell asleep and doze off the whole day, because if I do, I will miss the seminar and it only happens once a month! We were able to attend the seminar, and after that, we went to Tina Diaz for the final gown fitting. This time I got to see what my bride will be wearing, less the embroideries and other blings. The gown looks beautiful, it compliments my beautiful bride. After the gown fitting, Tina promised to deliver the gown by December, complete with the embroideries and other stuff.

We then headed to PrintLane to get our invitations. It looks real wonderful and matches out motif. All in all we called it a day at around 10PM. From 7PM Friday til 10PM Saturday, I'm wide awake. Just took quick naps when stuck in traffic.

Job well done for us! We will be distributing the invites soon. Watch out for it.

September 28 2008

We paid a visit to the caretaker of our future pad. We decided to rent a 2-bedroom bungalow house in Pasig. We chose that place because it is near Ivy's workplace, just one 15-20minute FX ride. The place looks beautiful. It is also very accessible because it is located in the main road. Supermarket is literally across the corner, and there are fastfoods (Jollibee, McDo, Chowking, etc etc) nearby. We paid the needed downpayment and once the current tenant vacates the place, we will start to move in. What we have in mind is to make sure that our place will be ready after the wedding -- furnitures and fixtures in place, etc etc, so that we can take a relaxful day after the wedding. No worries in mind whatsoever.
