Ryan & Kristi

Wedding Party

Mandii Atkins

Matron of Honor
Mandii Atkins

Mandii and I studied abroad together during our sophomore year at Taylor University in Greystones, Ireland. We became fast friends with many crazy adventures during the semester and remained close in all the years after.

Mandii brings life to my heart! Her friendship allows me to be free in who I am--no matter what! She is my fellow music lover, the one who invokes bubbling laughter within me, and she keeps my heart light and open to all life has to offer. She has been a faithful friend and has walked beside me during the past 2.5 years that Ryan has been a part of my life. I am honored and blessed to have her by my side as my maid of honor on this day!

Erik Mikulak

Best Man
Erik Mikulak

Erik and I met on my first day of 7th grade. New to Frankenmuth, I was eyeing my middle school gym class. I could tell right away who I would be ducking high velocity dodge balls from. On the other hand there were a few waifish kids in there that I knew I would be able to dominate. Erik, being one year my senior, made no indication that he wanted to establish dominance over me by way of a fast moving rubber ball. Rather, he saw potential in me and always would choose me for his teams.

In college, Erik and I continued our friendship at Central Michigan University and ended up living and graduating together. He has always been someone that I have looked up to and always will. Currently he resides in New Orleans, LA continuing the practice of "Potential Realization" as a High school Biology, Physical Education Teacher and Coach. Kristi and I will be joining Erik and his beautiful fiancée Lauren in New Orleans for their wedding in late November.

Courtney Miller

Bridesmaid, Sister in Law of Bride
Courtney Miller

I have known Courtney almost my entire life. We grew up as family friends, and she was married to my older brother six years ago. I am blessed to call her my sister and my friend!

Courtney has been a constant, loving friend who I have grown to lean on. I value her judgment and her wisdom, and I know that she will always be honest and help to guide me to make the best decisions possible. It was a confirmation to me that Ryan would be "the one" when she gave her approval to our relationship. I have loved watching the interactions between she and Ryan as they have grown to know each other and love each other as family. We are both so thrilled that she will stand beside us on our day!

Matthew Miller

Groomsman & Officiant, Brother of Bride
Matthew Miller

Matt is Kristi’s older brother and is married to Courtney. Their son, Gideon, is an amazing little man that will be acting as ring bearer in our wedding.

Matt is officiating our wedding, and I couldn’t think of a more well-spoken, special individual to preside over his younger sister's marriage. He has always been the one to speak wisdom to Kristi and continues to do so for both of us. We both admire how he keeps an open mind and we love his unique thoughts and creativity towards life. On top of that he has taken to his role as father to Gideon in a way that should be written in an educational book for all fathers to learn from! We can only hope to have kids as cute as Gideon and learn to parent as well as Matt & Court!

Kristine Miller

Bridesmaid, Sister in Law of Bride
Kristine Miller

I met Kristine during my senior year in college when she and Drew started dating. I immediately found her highly entertaining and enjoyable to be around, and was so proud to be a part of her wedding to Andrew last June. It was so exciting to get another sister that I love dearly!

Kristine is truly a one of a kind person in my life! She speaks her mind, isn't afraid to challenge me, and is always up for any new adventure! I treasure her constant encouragement and always look forward to our time together. I am proud to be her "older sister" and love knowing we'll continue growing together as family the rest of our lives. Thanks, Kristine, for standing beside Ryan and I in October!

Andrew Miller

Groomsman, Brother of Bride
Andrew Miller

Andrew is Kristi’s younger brother. Don’t let the fact that he is younger fool you. Andrew has acted as Kristi’s closest friend and protector for the majority of their lives. Andrew and I haven’t gotten to spend as much time together as the rest of the family but I can tell you that we have a lot in common. I see traits in Andrew such as compassion, honesty, a great sense of humor, and an energetic approach to life.

Andrew is and has been very active in sports and is now a tennis instructor and tennis programs director at a club in Indiana. He and his wife Kristine met in college and their relationship developed primarily on the tennis court at Taylor University. Also, Andrew is pretty much a lock for NCAA draft picks every year. I have only been involved in the Miller family pool for two years and he, along with Kristi’s father, are always battling for the lead.

My favorite part about Andrew and what I look forward to the most is the fact that he has been bitten by the “great outdoors bug.” Our wedding gift to him and Kristine was a tent and we have since gotten Andrew a backpack. I truly look forward to spending some quality time on the trail with him for years to come.

Megan Murphy

Bridesmaid, Sister of the Groom
Megan Murphy

I am so excited to get a third sister! I met Megan two years ago when she came to visit and see some shows at Red Rocks with Ryan. I had heard so much about her through Ryan, and (thankfully) immediately bonded with Megan on her visit here! I was so relieved to love Megan wholeheartedly from our first visit--and my excitement to have her as a sister has continually grown over the years.

Megan brings so many unique experiences to my life--including many costume parties, bonding over fashion and style, and having someone to talk to who knows Ryan as well as I do. I am unconditionally thankful for Megan. She has been a sister, friend, and mother to my future husband. She has been there for him through his battle with cancer, the death of their mother, and his constant search for a consistent career and place to call home. Megan is a rock for both Ryan and I, supporting us as a couple and as individuals. Megan is also recently engaged--which happened on the same day as Ryan proposed! Ryan and I look forward to sharing a life of laughter and fun with both Mitch and Megan--thanks for being a part of our wedding and our daily lives!

Mitch PeGan

Groomsman, Engaged to Groom's Sister
Mitch PeGan

Mitch Pegan is informally the newest member to my family as he proposed to my sister the very same day that I proposed to Kristi. Yes, that does mean her name will be Megan Pegan!

Mitch is one of the most generous, fun loving guys I have ever met and I couldn’t be happier that he is going to be my future brother-in-law. As a testament to the entire Pegan family, Mitch’s sister has only met me twice and is now running a marathon in San Francisco on the day of our wedding in my name to benefit Hodgkin’s Lymphoma research. Thanks again Mitch for taking part in our wedding in October!

Hannah Larson

Bridesmaid
Hannah Larson

Although Hannah and I lived down the hall from each other in college, we didn't really get to know each other until we reconnected in Colorado. She has been a roommate and best friend to me for almost four years!

Hannah is the type of best friend every girl wants--she's down to earth, loves to laugh, and enjoys trying new adventures! I have hiked mountains with Hannah, explored new cities in Colorado, and taken fun road trips to all parts of the state and even to Jackson Hole. Hannah has brought endless joy to my life! We always say that I have taught her to be more in touch with her emotional side, and she has taught me to be more realistic and wise. After years of living together and exchanging clothes, sharing many glasses of wine and having endless conversations, she truly feels like my sister. I am grateful for Hannah's wisdom and always standing by my side. Thanks to you Hannah, for being a part of our day this fall!

David Marks

Groomsman, Cousin of Groom
David Marks

Ahhh….David…. David and I have literally grown up together, physically, mentally and emotionally. Both of us have experienced health problems at a young age, a parents death before the age of 20 and in my opinion we have come out of it stronger, more mature, and with a better appreciation for life overall.

David and I were for a while the youngest cousins in our family. This meant that we had to put up with multiple forms of torture, abuse, and general disregard from our other cousins. We have millions of stories to back this up but one of my favorites took place when our entire family would drop all the cousins off at one home when they all went out for the night in teams to participate in a Road Rally (it was an 80's thing.) Some of the older cousins told us that eating any of the apple-pie or other delicious leftovers would give us nightmares. What made it bearable was the fact that we had each other and once we learned how to push some buttons within the “cousin heiarchy” we ran with it.

David’s father took us camping to some of the most wonderful places around Michigan and Canada. I can definitely attribute my love for the outdoors to some of those weekends. To this day I still think about the amazing blue water and all of the shipwrecks off of the tip of Tobermory, Canada. If you camp and want a unique beautiful location Near Michigan/Indiana check it out. Thanks, David, for sharing with me my childhood, adolescent years, and the future as a husband!

Tara Garcia

Bridesmaid
Tara Garcia

I met Tara 3.5 years ago when I first took my job at Young Life. She was one of the first people to approach me and we instantly became great friends! She has moved various places since the beginning of our friendship, and will be coming from New Mexico to be a part of our day.

Tara has the kindest, gentlest, most open heart of anyone I know. She has a constant smile and really has taken me under her wing in my years in Colorado. Tara met Ryan (or Murph as she likes to call him) just over a year ago. They instantly became friends and she has been such a supporter of our relationship. I like to joke that if I wasn't in Ryan's life, he'd go after her! We both think the WORLD of Tara and I truly couldn't make it through my weeks without our long talks and nights relaxing over a delicious meal. Thanks, Tara, for being a best friend to me and for being such a huge part of Ryan and I's relationship!

Rick Fitzgerald

Groomsman
Rick Fitzgerald

Rick is currently my roommate here in Colorado. With Irish names like Patrick Michael Fitzgerald and Ryan Patrick Murphy you would think that we would both have red hair, an affinity for whisky, and that we would always be looking for a fight…that is definitely not the case. Rick and I grew up together in Frankenmuth, MI where his father moved the family when he became a pastor at the Lutheran church in town. Rick and I met in high school and have been great friends ever since.

Rick is one of those guys that has MacGuiver-type skills and is always available and willing to help. He is also adventurous and has been on almost every single trip that I have ever organized to go rafting, camping, hiking, and skiing. Rick has taught me so much over the last year that we have lived together and I am really happy to have such a great friend that will be living close by here in Colorado.

Rachie Graeser

Bridesmaid
Rachie Graeser

Rachie was my roommate during my freshman year in college. Although she transferred after that year, we continued to be close friends and have journeyed together over all the phases of our lives.

Rachie is an inspiration--she makes me want to invest in people and in doing something that will change the world. She dreams with a full heart and is always full of laughter and a word of joy for those around her. She was also the friend that gave me my infamous nickname "Chooch"! In each step of our lives, she has been there to listen, to advise, and to encourage me to keep dreaming big. It is an honor to have Rachie stand with me on this day, especially since she is traveling from Thailand to be here!

Steve Hart

Groomsman
Steve Hart

For as long as I have known Steve he has been one of my closest friends. Steve and I share so many common interests that our friendship was inevitable. When I think of my top interests right now almost all of them stem from this guy. Music was something that I enjoyed from a “Top 40” standpoint until I met him. He introduced me to genres, and sub genres that I still listen to today. The same can be said for movies. Almost all of my favorite films are Documentaries, Independent films, and cult classics that I am not sure I would have even considered without Steve’s recommendations. Because of this respect that I have developed for Steve’s opinions on everything, I still to this day lean on him for advice.

Gideon Lee Miller

Ring Bearer & Adorable Nephew
Gideon Lee Miller

Gideon will be almost two when Ryan and I get married! He is the apple of our eyes and there is no one cuter! Gideon is currently learning how to give hugs, say "love you" and is getting to know his Aunt Kristi and Uncle Ryan by looking at pictures of us and sometimes briefly talking to us on the phone. His other interests are: the mp3 player, trucks, doggies, pooping, napping and playing on the swings.

We are looking forward to Gideon being a part of the ceremony!
