Sarah and I met when we both attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She was majoring in Graphic Design and I was 2D animation.
We both met in a course called "The Power of Myth and Symbols" (not sure if there's any irony or a joke there). We started talking more and more, and I mysteriously hung out after class waiting to walk with her more and more.
Eventually I worked up the courage to ask her out, and unfortunately for her she said yes. Our first "date" was eating at the Cheesecake Factory in downtown San Francisco and attending the Senior Graduation Art Show at the Academy.
It was one of the best nights of my life, that thankfully ended in a kiss, woohoo! Shortly after my graduation we moved in together in Alameda, CA, where we still live to this day.
After five years I decided it was time, and created an animation to help me propose to her. In summary, it featured a small cat walking onto the screen and holding up a sign saying "Marry Me Sarah!" Surprised, she looked over and I was on my knee with the ring. I found a diamond encrusted plumeria ring, which is the state flower of Hawaii, Sarah's family roots.
So here we are! We have A LOT of planning to do, but one step at a time we'll tackle this and enjoy a long, fruitful life together. Love you Sarah!
