The Ceremony

We will have a ceremony similar in style to a Quaker Wedding. Since our marriage is not supported by the state government or either of our Christian denominations, it is important to us to have our commitment witnessed by our friends and family. There will inevitably be some family members who choose not to support our union. We respect their wishes and turn to you, who will be attending, to lend us your love and support.

As part of the ceremony, family and friends will be given the opportunity to share as they feel moved to do so. We welcome contributions in all forms. Tell us a story, give us advice, offer a prayer, read a poem (or write one!), sing a song or just give us a hug. Some silence is to be expected and should be used a time to meditate and reflect. At the end of the ceremony everyone will be invited to sign our wedding certificate and pledge to hold us accountable to our commitment to one another.

Camp Ben McCulloch

Our wedding will be held at Camp Ben McCulloch in Driftwood, TX. There will be tons of shade and cover, but it will be outside. Dress sassy, but appropriate for outside play. We'll have balls, frisbees, bubbles and other manner of outside fun so make sure you're comfortable. Kids are more than welcome (it is a park after all!) and there's a great playground just behind the ceremony site. We're looking forward to an afternoon of love, laughter, drinks and fun with our family friends. Please contact us with any questions about the location.

Oh, and if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella!
