Jennifer and Sarah

Sarah's Blog

Hey there. This is where I'll be keeping you up to date on wedding plans as they unfold. The majority of these blog updates are actually written by Sarah, even though Jennifer appears as the author.

Wow, what a weird spring

Hey everyone! We managed not to get washed away in the Nashville flood. We lost some objects. Lost all my winter clothes. Some of the ducks died. Overall, we were really lucky. Things are starting to get back to normal. Our new ducklings came in the mail. We've done all our spring planting. I decided to go back to school for nursing, so a lot of things are up in the air. I updated links so it's easier to find our Amazon Wishlist, I've done a little housekeeping on the site. The RSVPs are...

invites and inportant information

Invites have gone out, and we look forward to getting your RSVP postcards or online RSVPs.  Let us know if you did not receive anything and were expecting to receive an invite, as occasionally the mail does eat tasty invites.  Also, if you are coming, let us know if you have any food allergies or children coming with you.

Jenn's dress and DIY

Jenn's dress has been discontinued! Oh noooo! That means back to shopping. Inspired by my Etsy find, Jennifer searched until she found a gorgeous dress. She contacted the designer, and she's willing to customize it for J. :) It looks a bit like Marilyn Monroe's dress in "The Seven Year Itch." She'll be ordering soon. I'm thrilled to say that both our dresses put together, even with customization and alteration are less than half the cost of one dress at the wedding dress boutique. And they...

My dress is here and RSVPoscards

Yay, my dress came in! It is so gorgeous. And so me. And comfortable. I can sit in it, dance in it, breathe in it. I don't need complicated undies for it. It's perfect. I'll post an little sneak peak, but you'll have to wait to see the whole thing. Also, Jennifer and I made RSVP postcards last night. They are little tourist postcards for Nashville to give you some idea of the attractions you might want to see while you're here. The RSVP is really straight forward. They're stamped and have a...

Wedding dresses found and Favors

I found my dress! There was this killer shirt on Etsy that I just fell in love with. I emailed the designer and asked her if she could make it into a dress, and she said yes. She says she thinks it'll be ready by Giftmas, so I'm excited. Jenn decided on a dress too. She'll be ordering soonish. It's so pretty. It's very different from mine. Mine is hippie chick meets Greek goddess. Jennifer's dress is more elegant. That's pretty much us in a nutshell. I'm a mess, and Jenn keeps me from going...

The wedding dress search continues

I am a practical girl. I like inexpensive things. I like making my own stuff. And when it comes down to it, I don't want to buy a dress that's ridiculously expensive, hard to move around in, and can't be worn again. I don't want to be sleeveless on my wedding day. So I'm going to keep looking for something that's cheap, comfortable, can be worn again, and has long sleeves. It's not an easy search. For some reason, almost all wedding dresses are sleeveless. Also, designers seem to think fat...

Wedding dress shopping

I always wondered why wedding dresses are usually strapless or sleeveless. I can now tell you why: because it is HOT in a wedding dress. All kinds of underwear I've never even considered wearing! Jennifer and I had a great experience at the bridal boutique. I think we may have found the dresses for us, but we want to look around first. See our photos of the dresses here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v65/photo_tron/Wedding Dress Shopping

Save the Date

Yay, the Save The Date cards are going out today. The purpose of Save The Date cards is generally to help people make plans long in advance, although in some cases, I may be coming out to friends and family. Uh, surprise! Jenn and I had fun making them. Sorry about my crappy handwriting. If you don't get one, or if I've forgotten to list your spouse/significant other, please let me know.  Save the Date cards are kind of a test run for invitations.
