Matt and Jess met one night at Borders Books. (think it was a Monday at the beginning of November 2003). Jess was hanging out with Ben Graver drinking entirely too much coffee. When they first met, Jess referred to Matt as "Adorable Matt". How cute, huh?

Their story isn't really that incredible. Matt and Jess started hanging out. Jess started going to Journeys more often than anyone with her size feet (size 11...or small sailboats as Jen used to say!) needs to. (PS to Journey's...your selection of size 11 womans shoes is severely lacking!)

Matt joined into the little circle of friends and they started hanging out even more! To make it a little more difficult, Jess was living in the city and Matt was living in Red Lion. And then, the engine in the Neon died. Which meant round trip rides to see him for Jess. But their love was stronger than the Neon's engine.

Matt moved in with Jess at 536 about a year after they started dating. And now there is someone who will consistently mow the grass. :)

They started looking at rings casully a couple of months ago (Jess had been looking at them for a while!). Matt found the ring he had been looking for and it ended up being a total fiasco of clearance rings and credit card authorizations. But it worked! However, Jess is a snoop and when she found the FedEx tag missed delivery tag on the door...she knew!

But Matt had a plan. Or so he thought. They were supposed to go down to the Cherry Blossom Festival the weekend of April 14th, however...Jess was going to Colorado (to visit Andy and Ginnie!) that weekend.

They went to a birthday celebration for the wonderful Brian on March 24th and aftewards were going to meet some friends at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Matt wanted to stop home to take his camera bag inside. While Jess sat in the car applying lipstick, Matt proposed. It caught her totally off guard, but she managed not to make a total mess of the makeup that she only wears like twice a year.

Matt works in the Warehouse at Quaker City Paper. He started there in February after being a Body Piercer at Checkered Past for over a year.

Matt enjoys photography, shooting, piercing, tattoos, and sleeping.

He will be the photographer at Jess' Maid of Honor Jen's wedding at the beginning of June.
