It was New Years of 08! Scott took me out eat at a lovely restaurant and then went went down to market square to watch 'the ball drop'. It was a great night! On the way home I brought up the subject of when we would get engaged and if he would talk to my parents and stuff, little did I know he already had! We had been planning on waiting at least 6 more months before we would get engaged.
Then we were headed back to his house, as we pulled into the neighborhood I realized the power was out, everything was pitch black! So Scott was like well you stay in the car. He went in to 'get a flashlight'. He came out and got me and I opened the front door(which opens to the stairway) and the stairs were covered in candles all the way up. Then he had a little table set up in front of the couch with candles and a rose. He got down on one knee and told me that his 'new years resolution' was to spend the rest of his life with me and asked me to marry him!
