Creekside Cellars

Evergreen, Colorado 80439

This is one of our favorite places to go! It's a beautiful winery that sits on a creek (hence the name!) We fell in love with it four years ago at Scott's best man, Craig's, rehearsal dinner. Their wine is outstanding and the atmosphere is to die for! It may be a little cold in October to sit out on the deck but there is seating inside and the food is great too! If you are a wine lover, this is a must see for you!

Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Red Rocks Amphitheatre

720-865-2494

18300 W. Alameda Parkway

Morrison, Colorado 80465

If you've never seen Red Rocks, you have to go!!! Scott and I have seen numerous concerts here including Dave Matthews Band and Toby Keith, I graduated from High School here and Scott and I have gone to an Easter sunrise service here!

Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills fifteen miles west of Denver, there stands a symbol of nature's unparalleled majesty. Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. With Mother Nature as the architect, the design of the Amphitheatre consists of two, three hundred-foot monoliths (Ship Rock and Creation Rock) that provide acoustic perfection for any performance.

The area of Red Rocks, originally known as the Garden of Angels, has attracted the attention of musical performers since before the turn of the century. The majestic setting of the Amphitheatre, along with the panoramic view of Denver, makes for a breathtaking scene.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located in Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado, 15 miles west of Denver. Coming from Downtown, take I-70 west to exit 259, turn left at the bottom of the Morrison exit ramp, cruise on downhill 1.5 miles to the Red Rocks Park entrance. Coming from south Denver, take C-470 to the Morrison exit, turn west and follow the signs to the Park entrances. Here's a tip to avoid some traffic: You can also exit C-470 at Highway 285. Take it west to Highway 8 and then come north to the Amphitheatre!

Mt Falcon Park

Mt Falcon Park

303-271-5925

700 Jefferson County Parkway

Golden, Colorado 80401

This is one of our favorite places to hike, if you're looking for some beautiful views and some great mountain air!

The story of Mount Falcon is largely the story of John Brisben Walker, who once owned over 4,000 acres of land in this area. During the early 1900's Walker lived in an elaborate stone house on Mount Falcon while planning the construction of a summer home for the Presidents of the United States, which was to have been located on a ridge to the east of his home. Walker's home burned in 1918, and all that remains of this once splendid edifice are the massive stone walls and numerous fireplaces of a unique mountain castle.

On this site the crumbling remnants of a broken dream and the views of the plains to the east and mountains to the west combine to create an inspirational setting. The construction of the Summer White House never proceeded beyond the laying of the foundation and cornerstone, though thousands of Colorado school children each donated 10 cents toward Walker's dream. American involvement in W.W. I, combined with a waning of Walker's good fortunes, brought an end to this project. From the site of the Summer White House one may look down on Red Rocks Park, one of Walker's dreams come true.

To access the park, take the Indian Hills turn-off from U.S. Highway 285, follow Parmalee Gulch Road for 5 miles to Picutis Road, then follow the signs to the west parking area. East access is available from Colorado Highway 8 south of Morrison. Turn west on Forest Avenue and north on Vine Avenue.
