Scotty, This has been a long time coming and we are both so happy for you and Amanda. You are almost like one of our kids, as we moved to Gibsonville when you were just a baby. We have watched you and your brothers all grow up to become fine young men and we are as proud of you all, as your Mom and Dad probably are. We met Amanda way back when you first started dating. Remember the time she came with you guys down to NC and your dad entered his pick-up truck in the car show in Burlington? Amanda sat on our car and a couple others while the owners took her picture sitting on their cars. She is a strong and beautiful woman and we know that you and she will be very happy together. Congratulations! It's been a long time waiting, but what's the old saying, "The Best Things In Life Are Worth Waiting For". I suppose now is the time I should give you'all some advice or some words of wisdom. From day one, both of you have been outgoing and have always had a lot of school friends, family friends, and close friends. Never forget who your best friends are..."Each Other". I once read somewhere that newlyweds were like two trees planted beside each other. Usually both tree's will grow up together, but if one tree grows taller, faster, bigger, stronger, and takes control....the other shorter, slower, smaller, weaker tree will wither, decay, separate, and fall apart. Don't walk ahead of each other...don't walk behind each other...walk with each other and grow together as best of friends.
When you come over or call your Mom I have to jump in to the conversations when I can. I know we don't talk as often as you and your Mom and I don't tell you "I Love You" as often as I should, but we know the love is there.
