My bridesmaids have settled on dresses. I've decided to allow them to each choose their own with the requirement that they come from the same place I'm getting my gown so the colors will all match, and that they be full length. They chose beautifully and I'll be putting in the order in the next couple of weeks.
Chris picked his tux and I love it! I've posted the link on our Facebook event page so our groomsmen can see what they've got to pay for :) It's a gorgeous compliment to my dress and I'm excited with his choice.
I finally called my aunt the wonder-baker today, and she's available to do my cake! I'm so excited, she's gotten rave reviews from everyone I know. I had no idea she even did cakes! I have to call her next week to setup an appointment to start deciding what I want.
At this point, everything I CAN do is done. I've chosen all the big things, paid the deposit on the venue, sent out the first wave of Save the Date cards, and lined up most of my vendors. I've picked out things like the birdcage card holder for the reception and made notes for misc stuff I'm sure to forget, like the guestbook. I bought lovely black scroll-work baskets and deep red fabric liners to serve as bread baskets on the buffet table. I even found a gorgeous decorative box at Home Depot that will serve as our wedding memories box. I'll stuff it full of copies of invitations, photos, the flowers, misc stuff...blah blah blah :)
Oh yes, I found our cake topper. It'll be custom made by a vendor I found on a crafting site. It's going to be gorgeous and the envy of all who attend! :)
I'm getting very excited. The next steps...deposits! ick.
