Consigned, Antique Kerman Rug With Lion Pictorial-King Darius 2'1x2'8

This antique Kerman rug features a pictorial element based on King Darius the Great (Xerxes father) Achaemenid fighting a lion creature of Persepolis. The lion creature is composed from the head and body of a lion, a bull's horn, neck, wings and legs of an eagle with the tail of a scorpion. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran (Persia). Measures: 02'01 x 02'08. Good Condition: Minor wear consistent with age and history.
