Thank you!

Thank you!

We are grateful to have received so much support from our amazing friends and family to pull off a largely DIY backyard wedding. An extra big thank you goes to our parents Roxie & Don Giles, and Tom & Christy Young who between them made everything from the favors to the wedding dress. Their enthusiasm is truly touching and their hard work played a huge part in making the wedding possible.

Thanks to Ceri Brophy, who in addition to all her Maid of Honour duties (which she totally rocks at by the way), addressed all the invitations by hand with her pretty pretty printing, and helped arrange all the flowers! Also her reading was a highlight of the ceremony! I heart you Ceri!

Thanks to Colin Giles, who played the beautiful cello music during the ceremony, and his talented and lovely fiance Charlotte Palmer-Benson, who can use an air-compressor staple gun and also pulled off some great riverside diplomacy to clear room for a photoshoot. I am very much looking forward to returning the favour.

Thank you so much Cody Young and Sylvia McFadden, who helped out with photography, including manning the very successful photobooth, and capturing the late-night revelry. You two were so great, thank you!

Thanks to Ian McLeod and my Grandma Norma Elrod for lending me the use of their homes and lawns, and in Grandma's case sacrificing a good night's sleep if the party gets loud!

Thanks Laura Trivett, Cheryl Arnold, Auralie Westie, Jenny and Caroline Walter, Mia Fiddis, Risa Newyear-Ramirez, Vicki Passmore, and everyone else who helped out in the kitchens. The food tasted fantastic and looked great too!

Jenny, James, William, and Caroline Walter, thank you so much for your help getting the property ready, with day-of set up, and with day-after clean up! James helped with some major construction and renovation projects; Jenny gardened, crafted, cleaned, and helped with food; William helped with day-of set-up; and Caroline helped with decor, cleaning, and food.

Thanks to Cara Elrod, who is always game for a random mission! In addition to fetching chalk, lemon juice and mens underwear on the day of the wedding, she tracked down the perfect peach rice paper for confetti and even helped me punch it all out!

Thank you Sheila Young and Michael Kenchington. Michael did the sound system...which I completely don't understand but am very grateful for. Sheila is single-handedly responsible for the fact that the men had their boutonnieres on during the ceremony. And both of them were there bright and early Sunday morning to help clean up the mess!

You can't have a garden wedding without a good-looking garden! Thanks to Suzanne Kenchington for her help getting all the annuals we needed to fill the garden with summer flowers, and thanks to Liz Calvin and her daughter who did a ton of gardening the week of the wedding!

Thanks to Mike Young, who worked tirelessly getting the property ready the week before the wedding, doing everything from construction, to painting, to weeding.

Thanks Heather Young who helped set everything up the day before and day of the wedding. She has a great design esthetic so whatever job you give her you know it will look good!

Thanks to my amazing co-workers: Derek Sabourin, our MC and Day-of Coordinator; Mike Jones, who did a fantastic job manning the bar; Annie Dinovo, hair & make up artist; Vicki Passmore, master of things crafty and creative; Georgia Schindler, day-of people wrangler and set-up helper; and Alex Sparling, whose day of tasks including the daunting job of steaming the wedding dress! Seriously, why are you guys so awesome? I love you all!

Big thanks to the whole day-of team! I can't believe how many people were at the property Saturday morning...it was truly amazing! If I've missed anyone please know we are super grateful to all of you!!!

We couldn't have done it without you guys!
