A journal of my experience planning our wedding
Don't worry...I'm still here!! I know it's been 2 months since I've written anything, but more liked 3 since a real update. So sorry, things have just gotten so busy. With the madness of trying to find a job, trying to plan a wedding, and trying to find a place to live, life's been pretty busy. Oh by the way, did I mention, I am now officially employed! Better late than never right? I will be working at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights on a part adult part pediatric unit...perfect! I...

Ok, so first off I'm just apologizing for the lack of writing. After finishing school and passing my boards, I've been on a mad search for a job. I've becom rather frustrated with the whole job search thing so I haven't been up for much writing. Especially since every spare moment I had (which is quite a bit) was spent filling out applications. Which just to vent about that for a minute...WHY do they make you fill out an application with all the same info that's on your resume only to have...
It's official...our first nephew/"ring bearer" has arrived!! Lucas James Ervin was born at 7:41 pm on Saturday October 25, weighing 8 lb 13 oz, 21 inches long. PS: Mom and Lucas and both doing great and should be home tomorrow!
A little over a week ago, I some how talked John into going to register for gifts. I'm sure he was regretting it afterward, but none the less, he came along. What we thought would be a not SO long trip, turned into a once in a lifetime 4.5 hour experience at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. We were in the store more that Saturday than all the times I think I've been there put together. I think once we got over the overwhelming feeling, we actually had fun doing this together...until we got to the...
So, as of 12:15 pm today I received the results of my nursing boards. It is now official that I am a registered nurse. Unfortunately, I am still an unemployed nurse, but hopefully that won't be for much longer. Tomorrow will start the long application process anywhere and everywhere across the Chicagoland area. I will keep you all informed! Just wanted to share the good news! PS: The wedding was 6 months from Sunday!!!! (Then I'll be Stefanie Bernard, RN)
I have become so frustrated with some of the wedding attire. What I thought would be two easy finds, have turned in to two difficult tasks. The first one was the flower girl dresses. I thought I wanted the most simple, traditional flower girl dress for little girls , however, that proved to be abnormal. I thought it would be easy to find such a traditional dress, but the only ones I could find were the extremely over priced dresses in the bridal shops. And if I did find one I liked, they had...
Well it's been a while since I've done some wedding planning stuff but this weekend was full of it! On Friday, my mom and I and my Aunt Joni went to meet with some florists. This was an unexpected task for me as I've always thought I had my florist picked out. My parents have used the same woman for years...I knew she did great work and it was one less thing for me to worry about. Well at the end of the summer we found out that she would be retiring in August which left us with no clue who...
This past weekend my Aunt Joni and Uncle John, being the wonderful people they are, had an engagement party/get-together for our bridal party out at their home in Yorkville. It was a great night and a great chance for everyone who could make it to get to know each other. As usual my aunt made some amazing appetizers and desserts, which everyone enjoyed. John and I had a great time getting to hangout with everyone and everyone else told us how much fun they had. It was a great night! Check out...
As of tonight at 7:00 pm, I became a nursing school graduate! The very long, very stressful 20 months of nursing school are officially over for me! I'm not sure who is more excited...me or John; me because I have some freedom in my life again or John because he will no longer be engaged to an exhausted, usually crabby, fiance. Although it felt like it took forever, I somehow can't believe the end is already hear. I am so excited though to be starting my career, I know that I truly love what...
