A journal of my experience planning our wedding
Well as of this week, the wedding is only 8 months away! Time is sure going fast! I get more and more excited every day! I haven't done a whole lot since the last update, but one big thing was done. After the experience we had the first time out looking for bridesmaid dresses we have officially found the one. Shortly after we went to look, my cousin/matron of honor, my mom, and I went to another store to check out their selections. Again we (and by we I mean Vickie) tried on...
So now that I am "unofficially" done with school, I can get back to planning the wedding! The last 8 weeks of school were incredibly busy and left absolutely no time to even really THINK about the wedding. Thankfully I'm kind of at that wedding planning stage where there's not much to do. Now I'm on break for a week and even when I go back it's mostly clinicals...no reading 500 pages a week, no tests, no studying in a library with no windows! I can't even begin to tell you how much of a...
So finally we got to take our engagement pictures today!! Although the weather wasn't quite cooperative, it was better than 2 weeks ago and we made it work. Of course it was bright and sunny all day but when it came time for us to go downtown it was really cloudy. But I totally trust our photographer and I know they'll make the pictures look great. The couple pictures they showed us looked really good, so I can't wait to see the rest. I was definitely the minority at our little "photo...
So unfortunately we did not get to take our pictures on Monday! :( The photographer called as a large mass of clouds rolled in and said he didn't want to chance the weather because they will only go down to the city once for pictures for us. Which is totally understandable since they're coming from Bolingbrook and gas is sitting pretty at $4.19. However, the clouds of course rolled out and the sun came back...but by the time 6 o'clock was here it was cloudy and just kind of "blah" looking...
Tomorrow are our engagement pictures, which are being taken downtown at the Planatarium. So we are hoping for no rain and especially no wind! If it was perfectly sunny and warm that would be great too, but this is Chicago I'm talking about. So pray for good weather for us tomorrow...I don't want to have to wait any longer to take these. I've been really excited. John could tell you how crazy I was driving him about what to wear today. And of course we're back to the outfit we initially...
So I know the day is almost over, but I'm just getting home after a very long day. I just wanted to post Happy Anniversary! Today John and I have been dating for 4 years! Unfortunately we haven't seen and have barely talked to each other today because I just finished school stuff for the day and he's at a fund raiser. We did get a chance to go out to a nice (and expensive...oops!) dinner over the weekend. I'm totally slacking this year, I didn't even get John a card and told him not to...
This month has been all about music for us. Over the past week or two we met with and picked our DJ. He is actually a friend of a friend, so we feel pretty good about supporting the business of someone we "know" as opposed to a complete stranger. Plus he's young and I was really worried about having a 40 year old man trying to figure out what people our age like to listen and dance to. The other thing I really didn't want was someone who was going to walk around and bother our guests or make...
So as promised, here's an update on what we go accomplished before my blog. We'll start with finding a place. I got information of tons of places, but eventually narrowed it down to about 5 to look at. We started by going to an Italian restaurant/banquet hall in Addison that my dad recommended. My family had been going to the restaurant for a while so we knew the food was great. The hall was beautiful and we really liked it. We got to take our parents to a complimentary tasting and they also...
First off I want to say Congrats to my man who just got a new job!! Yeah!
Ok, so I know I haven't written anything in a while, but things have really
been busy for me with school...it hasn't left me any time to do things
for the wedding. And this is exactly why I wanted to do as much as
possible early on because I knew things would get hectic. I've lost my
weekends again because of clinicals, but that...
On Saturday, John and I went to meet with a travel agent to get ideas
for our honeymoon. I now think we are more confused then when we walked
in to her office. We went over so many places and prices I think our
heads are still spinning. We told her we wanted to go somewhere
tropical, so she said the Caribbean is perfect this time of year (80s
and like no rain!). What's not perfect this time of year is the
price...it's peak season. Between spring break and the weather, we're
looking at...
