Laddles, Thermometers, & Bedding, Oh My!
A little over a week ago, I some how talked John into going to register for gifts. I'm sure he was regretting it afterward, but none the less, he came along. What we thought would be a not SO long trip, turned into a once in a lifetime 4.5 hour experience at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. We were in the store more that Saturday than all the times I think I've been there put together. I think once we got over the overwhelming feeling, we actually had fun doing this together...until we got to the point of hunger and exhaustion. Then we were just ready to be done! Fortunately for us, we were able to get the majority of things picked out; which was great since we were both there and could have a say in everything. And for the most part, I think we really agreed on everything. Although I let John have control of the scanner, there were only 2 or 3 things that unexpectedly showed up on the registry (one of which I'll admit was probably something we needed).
A couple days later, I dragged my cousin to Crate & Barrel to do our other registry. John had no problem with this as I think after that first trip he has no desire to spend another 4 hours at a store. Thankfully, this trip didn't take as long; I'm assuming because we got most of our stuff at the first place. It was great to have Vickie with though, since she is a pastry chef. She was able to point out things I'm sure I hadn't thought of needing. The great thing about both of these places is that both have registries on-line where we can manage everything. Needless to say, I have been adding and changing things on-line since we first went. We even decided to completely change our bedding, and didn't even have to set foot in the store. Oh what would we do without the internet?! Check out our new registry link on our website where you can get linked directly to our registries. And just a tip, when you go into the store to request our registry, give them my name as there are about 50 some "John Bernard"'s out there compared to only one of me! :)

I guess we can expect lots of desserts out of you then at future family parties?! Especially since we now what you can do with an icing bag! ;)
