Steve and I *"officially" met in November 2005 during our Probation Officer training in Tallahassee. We became friends, however, I resided in Orlando and he resided in Tampa. We kept in contact through emails off and on until I decided to move back to Tampa in the fall of 2006. We went on our first date (I did not realize this was a date until much, much later...a little slow on my end)at Chili's. We closed out the restaurant literally as the employees were busily mopping around us, wondering when we were going to decide to leave. This night sparked several more dates and after a Halloween Party we discussed dating, although agreed to take things slow....he kissed me that same night! Here it is almost five years later and we have been living together since August 2008 and have a wonderful four-legged child, named Camille, whom we could not possibly live without.
On New Year's Eve 2010, Steve and I got all dressed up and I cooked a nice romantic dinner, complete with candles and music. We decided to take a drive, although he would not tell me where we were going. We stopped at the University of Tampa and walked around Plant Park. I began catching on to what may occur as I was wondering why we were randomly there. He took me up the steps of Plant Hall and we sat down on one of the benches where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said yes of course! We later went to the Wine Exchage..a favorite restuarant, and had drinks and dessert to celebrate! We are very excited about taking the next step and sharing our lives together.
*I say "officially" because I actually knew of Steve when we both attended the University of Tampa. He graduated in 2003 and I graduated in 2005. My best friend/maid of honor and I used to regularly make fun of a certain guy on campus for carrying a man purse/messanger bag around and walking with a unique swag about him....who would've thought a few years later I'd be dating him??? ;)
