Never fear, fun is near with this wedding party!
Rachel is wicked cool. She teaches high school English, and critical thinking about media. In addition to being amazing and sassy, Rachel is uniquely qualified for this party as she has had extensive prom chaperon experience, and has crowd control down pat. So watch out troublemakers, if anyone misbehaves during the dance party on the Columbia City Theater dance floor...unless, of course, she's too busy with her own moves to notice.
A big heartfelt thank you to you Rachel for being unbelievably energizing and making the wedding planning process fun and enjoyble, for the referral to an awesome photographer, and being a totally killer style consultant pro bono. That's all just in the last month, and we have had several years of such good fortune. We love you!
No question about it, Summer is a diva! Summer and Bridget worked together at Resto in the 90s, where they became friends musing about the important stuff in life while customers browsed for drawer pulls, sofas and bric-a-brac. Many careers, degrees, and phenomenal experiences later, they're still waxing philosophical, but mostly having a blast whenever they get together. Summer is a ceramic artisan and super crafty person. She's also engaged to be married to Matt Korst this coming August 29th. Bridget is excited to be in her fabu wedding party later this summer too! Summer also happens to have the same favorite celebrity chef as Steve.
Hooray Summer for all of your fresh perspectives, and original evaluations of just about anything requiring judgment. Wedding planning was a snap with you in this girl band. You're a star! Thank you thank you thank you!
Michele and Bridget have surfed blue, gray and green waves together in Hawaii, Canada, and Washington (water temps ranging from 56-86 degrees). She is also a founding member of Five's Company, (also comprised of Steve, Bridget, Georgie and Fuu). She and B met through Resto connections originally, and have been thick as thieves ever since. A prodigy at Guitar Hero, as the only one in our house to hit a 289 note streak on medium, Michele is also a fantastic cook, as well as, an unbelievably amazing friend. Michele literally knows everyone worth knowing in Seattle's restaurant/fine dining scene, and as such, is often called upon for fabulous recommendations on not just where to eat, but who/where to go to for the best service and ambiance.
Michele! We are so lucky to have you in our lives. All of the impromptu dinner and video game nights, BBQs, and Christmas decorating nights are off the charts fun. High-five for being in our wedding, and for all the recommendations and help! We know you'll help make our night a celebration to remember!
Lucy and Bridget became friends from the moment they met in Norwich England in January 1994. They were in Pop Culture Lit class together and went to coffee after the first class and never were strangers again. Lucy is a musician and composer, playing the flute avidly. She's recorded several terrific albums, and Bridget loves playing her songs while teaching yoga. Lucy lived in India for most of the past year studying Indian flute and drumming and recording an album. We are so excited to have her in the wedding party because every chance to hang out with Lucy is full of laughter. Obviously because she's British! That but mostly because she's a complete star, an impeccable listener, and totally lives life to the fullest. She lives from the source, inside out and it's such an amazing pleasure to kick it with her.
Lucy! We are honored, grateful and thrilled that you are able to fly across the world to be in our wedding. Hats off to you! XOXOXO, cannot wait to see you in a couple weeks!
Sean and Steve went to high school together, and were friends ever since. Besides being old friends, Sean is perfect for the wedding party for an even more auspicious reason. Sean is partly responsible for this wedding because Steve and Bridget may have never met had it not been for Sean. Sean and Bridget worked together at a massage school in North Seattle, and Steve and she met through the Sean connection. It's possible that Sean shot them both with some kind of tiny love arrow, but we can't be sure. Steve totally dug being in Sean's wedding more than a couple of years ago, and is stoked to have Sean in our wedding. Sean is super busy opening his own massage school in autumn 2008 in West Seattle, and still was able to take time out for his friends.
What more can we say, Sean? Thank you for being our matchmaker and friend extraordinaire. Yay!
Jason and Steve went to high school together and have been friends ever since. Jason is a dedicated musician and is always beginning or wrapping up some original, major recording project. He's been hardcore practicing mixed martial arts for the last several years and is a wealth of knowledge about strength training, fitness nutrition, and ultimate fighting. We love that we know that if everyone else somehow suddenly gets busy on our wedding night, Jason will be there because if this guy gives you his RSVP he will be there, on time, and with a grin. Jason's family hails from Tennessee, so he is known to say things like, "so and so is a firecracker," and that also means his family garden has been a source of green tomatoes for Bridget to make one of her favorite dishes. Jason can also do an awesome heavy metal growl.
You rock! Thanks for being in the wedding, Dude!
Ben has a crazy green thumb and grows a vast variety of plants in his garden and green house (ranging from broccoli to orchids), and the bounty of which he often shares. He and Bridget met through the Resto connection in the 90s, and have been great friends ever since. Being the Best Wo(man) in Ben and Rachel's wedding nearly two years ago was one of the highlights of B's life. Ben shares Steve's passion for fishing in the Northwest. And for other outdoor fun, S & B love hiking with Ben and Rachel, as they guarantee good company and good eats on the trail.
We love that Ben is making our society and community better. He mentors high school kids that need role models in an authentic, accessible way, and is a democratic delegate. As if that's not already amazing enough, Ben makes a fierce fresh salsa and is always 100% fun on any occasion, but especially a special one.
Ben thanks for being in our wedding! We can't thank you enough for your tips on orchids, opening your home to us for wedding events, keeping it real, and being such an integral part of this party and our lives in general.
Patrick was Bridget's boss in the Office of Financial Aid in Boulder Colorado. From the beginning of their friendship Patrick was one of those unusual people who challenges the people close to them to test their own limitations and boundaries, in a good way. He was absolutely pivotal in her decision to study abroad in England, and not only emphatically said, "Do it, or else," but he also helped to eliminate any obstacles. Such as, when she returned jobless and broke from the U.K. he graciously let her crash on his enormous, cushy, L-Shaped sectional sofa for ages rent free, and cooked most meals. This guy has been the ultimate friend, when a friend is in need, and he's one of the most boisterous, energized funny men to spend time with any time. Patrick is also a stand up comedian. Patrick makes every experience memorable. And living in NYC he's right in the element to suit his adventurous soul. Just this past Saturday night, he met Brad Pitt, Angelina, George Clooney, Oprah and John McCain.
Patrick, thank you for not even hesitating a second to say yes when we suggested you might get ordained and officiate our wedding. You rule! We couldn't imagine anyone else.
Tyler is Steve's bro. He's graduating this year and the big reason we're headed to Anguilla. He loves snorkeling, and makes a mean guacamole.
Thanks for being our DJ and Spotlight Engineer! Sweet! Will this be the beginning of a lucrative career as the family "wedding dj"?
Dave and Steve met at the Motor Pool and were instafriends, as so many good friendships begin. They have so many things they both feel similarly about, like music, fishing, outdoors, metal, snowboarding, and hanging out in Woodinville. We're super stoked to have Dave in the wedding because he's always a blast and brings good times. Sweet! Your killer, Dude!
