Our wedding is one year from today!!! I woke up early this morning and could not get back to sleep, thinking about all the things I'll be feeling in a year, quickly followed by thoughts of all the things left to do. But then, we've done so much already that it's not a real worry. We'll narrow down the caterer soon, we have a DJ (who comes with a bartender!), I have a lead on a young, upcoming, talented photographer, and have put together a spreadsheet of facilities that rent tents, linens, plates, flatware.
Last night my daughter had her hair done by a young lady who, along with her sister, does hair and makeup for weddings on site, the day of the wedding. I wasn't going to do this, but then I realized if I don't treat myself to this extravagance on my wedding day, when else would I deserve it? So, they will be available that day to take care of any of my "ladies" who want this service.
Kevin's daughter has been here from Hawaii, visiting along with her 2 children who will be our ringbearer and flower girl. She looked on line with Sue and we found the outfits for them and ordered them, hoping we guessed right on what size they'll be wearing in a year, LOL. The pictures are on the Attire page. His new granddaughter, who is not even a month old will be wearing the "little flower girl" outfit. Whether she's walking or not, we want her to be part of this special day too.
Tomorrow it will be 3 years since our first date. We chose our wedding date partly based on this. At midnight the night of our wedding, we will have known each other for 4 years. Hard to believe 3 years have already passed. You'd think at our ages we'd hurry up and rush, so we could spend more time together. But with 2 homes, 2 families, this slower pace seems just right for us.
