What exciting, new, wonderful times! Our courtship began on January 6, 2007, and lasted until July 28. These pictures are from Tait's Christmas 2006 visit, his March 2007 visit, and his family's visit in May.
The end of July, 2007, Lauren and her parents flew out to Alaska to visit Tait and his family for the first time. It was during this time, of course, that Tait proposed! (The pictures from the proposal outing are in a separate gallery.) Enjoy this little window into that first wonderful visit to "The Last Frontier"!
Tait picked a spectacular spot to ask Lauren the question of a lifetime. Hatcher Pass is breathtaking! Both the Zimmerman and Fitzhenry families drove out there the second day of the Fitzhenry's visit. The weather was perfect - about 75 degrees - and the ever-changing beautiful white puffy clouds constantly re-arranged the look of the lush mountainsides.
We've only seen each other once since Lauren left Alaska six days after we got engaged. Tait came down to visit for Thanksgiving, and spent eleven glorious days in Charleston! Leslie and Shannon were wonderfully sweet in organizing and hosting an engagement party, which was an exciting time to celebrate together.
Tait bought a beautiful 1-acre lot just a mile up the road from his parents - not counting the 1/2-mile driveway of course. It had an old house on it, which he tore down. He is currently working on building a brand new house on the old, strong foundation. It's such a beautiful lot, with plenty of shady trees and a spacious field in the back.
