How we met...
Well it was a grooming maintanance day...we both happened to go to the same hair salon. I lived a cross the street from Stephanie's salon in Newport Beach. By the time Bill got there I had a head full of tin foil, not pretty (you girls know what I am talking about). Bill came walking in with little pieces of paper stuck to his face, because he got attacked by his razor that morning. We were quite a pair. Stephanie asked us if we wanted a glass of wine with our hair dos. We both said Yes! That was the begining of our amazing voyage! That was April 2005...
Bill picked me up after work on Mother's Day and we drove to a groovy resort in the desert called Two Bunch Palms. We had a cool suite called The Capone suite (appropriate as Bill is Italian). The next Day we did the spa and a couple's watsu (underwater massage). That was it...Miller was on his way!
I decided Two Bunch Palms was the best place to propose to my soul mate considering it was the place we conceived our bundle of joy. We headed out on a Friday for our first weekend away from Miller since he was born. Tamara tried to cancel because she was nervous about being away from him.. but I told her we needed alittle getaway.
I managed to hide the ring in my suit case until it was time to propose.. dinner time! I transfered the ring to my pocket in the bath room and then Tamara said.. lets have a glass of wine before we leave. We sat on the couch enjoying our glass of wine as Tamara snuggled up next to my side. The other side was the ring.. I was so nervous because I didn't want her to see the ring until the moment was right.
We walked to the restaurant at the resort and requested a nice table outside as the sun was setting. I ordered a bottle of champagne telling Tamara we needed to celebrate our first child. The bottle came out and I excused myself to the restroom. I came back and sat down and we cheered.. as the evening dimmed. I walked over and stepped down on my knees and told Tamara I loved her... gently putting her diamond on the wrong hand. Neither of us realized it was the wrong hand until dessert came... lol. She said Yes and the rest was history. Two Bunch Palms in Palm Desert.. CA will always be a special place for us!
