A lovely song about accepting the inner selves. :) Also, congrats!
One of the sweetest songs of people finding the right people for them.
An oldie' but a goodie'
It's about you two.
Alternatively, "Reuniting the Fleet", Battlestar Galactica Season 2 - OST: Bear McCreary
depending on how long an instrumental piece you can expect your guests to endure. ;)

This was mine and my husbands first dance. I first heard it from the credits in the movie Stardust and I thought it was the perfect song. Definitely something worth listening to.
Ok, had to leave a real suggestion.
Worked for my high school graduation, too.
I find this to be a very beautiful song overall and it would be very romantic for a slow dance.
This was actually written by Queen's bassist John Deacon, to be played at his own wedding reception.
A great way to set the tone for a good party.
It is an amazing song, very heartfelt, and I think you both will like it.
TROLOLOLOLOLOLO
If you like a little comedy at your wedding, this song by Aussie comedian Tim Minchin is awesome. A very strange but sweet lovesong.
My wife & I made this our first dance at our wedding.
This is a great song for the processional. The live version is particularly moving.
Really fun upbeat song. The title is just a bonus... Make certain you skip the preceding song; it's a major downer.
This was a song they wrote for a friends wedding (not mine). My husband surprised me by scheduling them for our reception. This is the song they played as we walked down the hill toward the picnic party and I (being the amazingly astute music noticing person that I am (NOT)) was halfway there before I figured out why the music sounded familiar. ...is a much better choice than my personal favorite song by them which is a filk song about Spock. Which they also played at my wedding. The incongruity of it along with my husband requesting it made me laugh tears.
I loved cutting the cake to this, and the crowd who knew the tune thought it was fun. Frank Sinatra played softly through the meal was perfect as well... I'm biased clearly.
Well, since every song that I would suggest is basically already on your suggestion-list, I thought that maybe you'd like to hear something different, too.
This Song is one of the most beautifull german lovesongs I've ever listened to, even if it is not so well known outside Medieval/Metal- circles.
Translation:
If I had a brush to draw your countenance,
The glint of your eyes the lovely lips,
I'd draw the lash, the braw, your smile,
Like I've realized it in yonder hour
If I had a flute to play the tone,
Which tell of your grace and beauty,
I'd played the round dance of the heavens,
Like in the thoughts, that torment me since.
But neither pictures nor tones nor word,
Could describe what on yonder place,
Has happened with me, as I behold you,
You ignited the shine in yonder night
The sun, the stars carry lore of you,
Every breeze tells me about you,
Every breath, every step,
Carrys your name within it
If I had a quill to write the words,
Which enmesh you like silvery light,
I'd write of Love, of closenes, of hope,
And write this longing afield to the night
But neither pictures nor tones nor word,
Could describe what on yonder place,
Has happened with me, as I behold you,
You ignited the shine in yonder night
The sun, the stars carry lore of you,
Every breeze tells me about you,
Every breath, every step,
Carrys your name within it
I hope you have fun with it and with my lousy little translation ^^°

Romantic in that super-hero/geeky way. Which is the best of ways. THE ABSOLUTE BEST. And it could probably be danced too.
Reminds me of falling in love with my husband.
Also: "Stay in Love" by Jim's Big Ego, one of my fave bands. Smooth and cool slow dance
They're Canadian, they're awesome, and the song is ridiculously fun to dance to. (This song has been played at every wedding I've attended in the last ten years -- yes, my friends are all geeks.)
First, I always thought this should be a wedding song, just because no matter how two people tell each other that they love each other, it's nigh impossible to KNOW they love you the way you KNOW that you love THEM. But given that you held that "Secret" from each other for years and years, it seems especially appropo. Happiness!
Always fun to have a good jig. ;p
also...
"Behind the Moon" by Matt Costa
"She Said Yes' by Mumford & Sons
"You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth" by Meat Loaf
"The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson
"Just The Way You Are " by Bruno Mars
"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder
"Love" By Nat King Cole
"The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra
"As Long As You're Mine" by Idina Menzel
"Two Step" by Dave Matthews Band
Flying through Grizzly Hills (which apparently resembles Canadian forest) on a beautiful day anyone?

See title of song. I play this for my wife when I'm feeling particularly geeky, or she's acting such.
I want to be there in the morning, I want to wake up by your side.
If I can make it back I'll be there, if I can catch the early flight.
I'll bring you dragon's teeth from silver beaches, shells from Africa.
I'll give you China dolls and silken shawls, orchids for your hair,
Treasures drowned in sunken galleons, jewels from desert caves when I get there.
We'll see each other in the morning when the sun comes up
We'll see each other in the morning when the sun comes up
In the morning
I'll guard you from the monsters on the TV,
From the pirates in the corners of your dreams.
I'll keep you from the cold and safe from trolls, from the bad men while you play.
I'll hunt for crocodiles and snakes with smiles I'll keep them
Far away from your innocence in all it's wonder.
We'll see each other in the morning when the sun comes up
We'll see each other in the morning when the sun comes up
In the morning, in the morning, when the sun comes up
This is the song that Ron and I used for our "first dance" at our wedding. It suited us because my hair, which was blonder then that it is now, was also quite long at the time. :-)
I'm not sure how romantic they intended this song to be, but for some reason, I think it's one of the sweetest ones out there.
Sometimes you don't need words.
This sums up how I feel about my wife...
My wife and I used that as our first dance. I made a whole CD that I gave to the DJ, actually... If you'd like the playlist, hit me up via email.
The real question is 'Why not?'
I'm not a huge Mraz fan, but this is one of those mushy songs you kind of like, even if this kind of music isn't your thing. And that's what weddings are for anyways. Songs you'll only listen to while you're making googly eyes at your sweetheart.
Lyric heavy and slow: perfect for dancing at the reception. By far one of my favorite love songs. Congratulations you two! :)

The title of the song says it all. This would be great for the reception.
Because more songs like this are needed.
There's enough cheesy wedding music around without me adding to it, so here's a taste of 1989 from a Canadian artist about being awesome together. *grins*
Because it's awesome.
It's such a lovely song about being with the right person who makes you feel whole.
Great song. If you don't know it you should definitely check it out.
Very nice song, I reckon a bit of your story in this one.
Give it a listen and youll see why.
Sweet song about a girl who loves her guy to the ends of the Earth for accepting her for all that she is.
A great Song from a great Movie (Wir sind die Nacht).
I think one of the best Lovesongs ever
both are from the sound track of The Dark Crystal They are nice to listen to . :-)
when you hear it you will know
This is the song my husband and I had our first dance to. It still brings happy tears to my eyes when I hear it.
A sweet song, if you like it I think it would be fitting. :)
It's just a lovely song, kinda dreamy, kinda to the point :)
It was either this or Justin Beiber, and we know how much you enjoyed that.
-YorCompewter
I think personally that this is one of the best and most moving songs the Beatles have done. I hope the day is everything you want it to be and more.
Does this really need any expliantion?
This is the song we did the first dance to at our wedding :)
One of the sweetest songs ever without being saccharine.
This is the song that I played for my wife and I to dance to after our own marriage. They spelled "Colourful" wrong, but it really sums up how lucky I feel to have her.
This was my "walk down the aisle" song in my wedding (which was a less then a week ago...), a lot of people loved it, it all depends on your style :)
Because even my sometimes romantic-challenged bf thought it was a wonderful song! (and it says a lot, he is sweet:) )
Its practically wedding vows in a song.
You know it'll be sweet.
Maybe the most beautiful song about being helplessly in love.
Its a beautifull song with a twist, the title is very deceiving.
Its a beautifull song and its also "our" song.
If you are a fan of woods, this would be great :)
Very sweet song.
need I say more??
Oh perhaps the duet with David Bowie on Black market is the best version.
I'm lucky to have lots of muso friends, one of whom played this at my wedding... and I'm not even religious... but I do love a good organ workout :)
No, seriously, it's a great piece of music - check here:

It is one of the songs that my wife and I danced too at our wedding. It has a great melody, wonderful lyrics, and a tempo that is very good for a decent waltz.
A bit of a sad yet heart felt love song. Reminds me of the poem "My mistress's Eyes are nothing like the Sun." Heart felt and lyrical.
One of the best love songs from Phantom. I sung it to my husband at our hand-fasting.
Such a great, cute wee song about not being perfect but being perfect for the one who matters most. Definitely our favourite song,
Best in the version seen in the Youtube video with (still) added to the title.
I know, any time someone says "Robert Palmer" all anyone can see is the women in the "Simply Irresistable" clip, shaking their collective things. But this... This sums up how I feel about my wife quite nicely...
The theme song to the movie The Princess Bride (my all-time favorite movie). Also, my husband and I used this as our first dance song at our wedding last year!
Goblins (race, not comic) themed music! Check out the band in general. Disclaimer: not for everyone.
Not only romantic sounding, but it was the ending song of Fallout 2. Can't get more nerdy than that. ^_^
Song title says it all.
A bit of a slower heavier song. But it's good.
Classic, beautiful, simple.
TMBG usually do comedy/nerdy songs, this one is a little different and just quietly cute :)
This classic gets me every time I hear it :3
Lovely song by a really great band - lots of good choices for reception too.
Geeky goodness sure to horrify the elderly aunties.
I'm not too familiar with them (and to be honest, I quickly get annoyed with them), but a couple friends of mine recently found out about a band called The Double Clicks when they performed at the Stumptown Comics Fest. They sing about love and lots of nerdy things.
Just a lovely, romantic song.

Or pretty much anything by them.
Congrats, everyone.
A beautiful song to mark this day, which is not only an accomplishment but also a new start.
I love this song about Pluto and its moon. The chorus is romantic to the geek at heart, and it's a song that always makes me want to dance with my sweetheart. As a Bonus, it is one that is available free on the artist's website, http://www.jonathancoulton.com/store/downloads/
These cello sonatas are simply beautiful, and if you're going to have more classical music than Canon in D I highly recommend them. If you desire more music let me know.
Hey guys. This is the only wedding-ish song I can think of on short notice. All the best!
~Pharl
This is a beautiful piece and is what was played during the prelude to the Bridal march song for my own wedding.
It's my girlfriend's and my song, so it must be appropriate for something, right?
