(From Katie's perspective. Ask Daniel's for his in person!)
Daniel “popped the question” Friday, November 5th, 2010, at West Egg in Atlanta, GA at approximately 8:30 PM. He had been planning on proposing in a photo booth and he looked all over Atlanta for the best photo booth to use, which just so happens to be at West Egg.
Since my birthday is this week, I was suspecting he would propose this upcoming weekend. (Especially since he told me he was taking me to a very fancy Brazilian steakhouse in Buckhead, where he first told me he loved me and where we celebrating my first birthday together 2 years ago.)
But he got me.
We ate at West Egg on Friday night, and everything was going pretty normal. Except when we were heading out, he pointed out the photo booth to me and asked if I’d like to take some photos. (Usually it’s me begging him to do this stuff.)
So we took a first round of photos, which turned out great. But West Egg’s photo booth is ancient and not digital, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for our photos to develop. While we were waiting, I was talking about how sweet it is when people have photo booths at their weddings... Little did I know...
And then he asked if I would like to take another round. Which I was just excited about! So I told him “Okay, but we have to make this round funny!”
So... Here’s a play-by-play of the proposal.
First picture: Big smiles!
Daniel - “Will you hold this for me for a second?”
Me - “...”
Daniel - “Will you marry me?”
Me - “....” (Still in total and complete shock.)
Fourth picture: “Yes!!! A thousand times yes!”
It was an amazing moment – and now we have it captured forever! This was the perfect proposal for me, so full of meaning, but also fun and spontaneous!
We are so excited about our wedding and we are so blessed to have each and every one of you as a part of it!
