Thomas & Erin

Our Wedding Preparation

Here's a record of our tedious but super fun and enjoyable preparation for our wedding! I've (this is Erin by the way :P ) purposely requested that we start way ahead of time for the prep so that we can avoid rushing and enjoy every single moment deciding on the nitty-gritty things to make our wedding a perfect one! :)

Our Wedding Venue

yes, as all other couples would tell you, deciding on the venue was a difficult one.. we've visited numerous hotels (with appointment or in a sneaky fashion) :P

After much considerations, we have chosen The Fullerton Hotel! just simply because it bears special meaning to the both of us.. It was near Fullerton that Thomas did his big proposal (the bridge near Fullerton to be exact) and it was where we had the fabulous dinner after the proposal..

I've always dreamed of a grand princessy wedding..walking down the stairs into a ballroom filled with my loved ones..and with Fullerton hotel everything seems to fall into place.. :)

Our Wedding Band

We've gotten our wedding bands!! (after a super long and tedious circuit-training-like walk from jewellers to jewellers) and they are from Goldheart! the same birth place as my proposal ring.. :) this time round for our wedding bands, we opted for something classic as well! Thomas have absolutely no fancy for diamonds, so i've magically shifted them ALL to my ring! My ring has 18 diamonds in all..lined up prim and properly in a straight row..resembling the coming together of our love, our similarities and our differences, crystalising into beautiful diamonds..for those who have seen our ROM ring will know that it consists of 2 bands bonded together..one in yellow gold and one in white gold..this symbolises that we recognise our differences and yet they are able to come together, side-by-side and be beautifully bonded.. :) as for Thomas's ring, it is a classic white gold band, representing the smooth-sailing of our relationship in the future..classic and withstanding the test of time..

Our Bridal Studio

Bridal Veil it is.. after looking through so many magazines on bridal stuff..most of the gowns which i commented are nice were all from bridal veil! so i had to give up my package with whitelink and jump right into the arms of bridal veil. It was a hard decision as we paid $680 for the whitelink package already..but we did try to go down to whitelink and see if they have got anything i fancy. After 2 appointments, Thomas and I am convinced.. I really thank Thomas for letting me have my way..all simply for the reason of wanting his wife to have her dream wedding although bridal veil did bust our budget..but till now i am still super thankful that i am with bridal veil.. maybe because i simply love the simple and classic design of nice cut and swarovski crystals..

Design Choosing:
It was a tough choice! when Michelle showed me all the 3 designs she drew, my eyes lit up. they are super gorgeous~~ if only i can have them all..i couldnt decide even till the last minute before i was supposed to meet Michelle and tell her which one i wanted! so we just went ahead, met up with her and told her what we thought about the 2 shortlisted designs and it was the v-neck one which we loved and chosed. It was a unique design!not anything Michelle has designed/produced for any previous bride..we loved it..but was scared that it was too revealing!so understanding our concern, she sent us straight to Tangs to get this specific brand of nubra and meet half an hour later. She made me change and demonstrated to me how a v-neck she will tailor and having seen that, it was a "go-ahead Michelle!" immediately..I know this was the gown!my gown!

Evening gown design:
as i cant bear to see the other shortlisted white gown go to waste, we've decided to make the other design into an evening gown (it's actually an afternoon gown for me :p)! the process of colour choosing was not as smooth as we would like it to be..would love to have black..simply love how the crystals sparkle against a black background..but my mum was dead against it..:( so we went back to Michelle, and we chose royal purple in the end.. BUT after i left the shop, i started to worry nonstop! and i really mean nonstop (even in my dreams).. i was not sure if the gown colour would make my skin look darker than what it is or give an indian feel! i was plagued....... Thomas who couldnt bear to see me in this state, braved back to talk to Michelle alone! told her how worried i was etc and the wonderful Michelle insist that she meets me and showed us a 'big piece' of that cloth and upon seeing it, somehow i was convinced immediately!it was gorgeous~~~ and now here i am..waiting patiently to see and try on my very own royal purple gown on 7th Oct!cant wait, cant wait(am trying on the full wedding gown on this day too!)!!

Fittings of the gowns:

Thomas's suit and fitting:
Seriously, there really isnt much choices for mens!i seriously conclude that weddings are mainly for the gals!haha... :P Thomas merely had to choose the different collar-line..pointed/notched something (cant remember wats that called)..with waist coat/without waist coat.. 80% chance that most grooms will choose black and this was it! but seriously after the fitting today, Thomas looked so cute in his wool fabric black suit with waist coat! so cute~~ together with his new hair cut by Jeric from Jeric Salon @ Ion, he looks so much younger and cuter..haha.. and i must add that waist coat can really make a person look slimmer!

Hair cut for our Pre-wedding Photoshoot

Before the long awaited photoshoot, we had to get something really important done! and that is to give our hair a life-transforming cut!! and we went down to Jeric Salon (fomerly Reds Hairdressing) to seek PROFESSIONAL help! I seriously think the money was well-spent (although quite a hefty bit was spent)! in my opinion, Jeric did quite a good job with Thomas's hair.. it look fuller now..although it was a haircut.. don't ask me why.. :P and he looks younger! after cutting through Thomas's hair, Jeric proceeded to trim mine! and he gave me a full flat fringe without telling me! it was nice i must say.. am really into this doll-like fringe nowadays..haha..i did tell Jeric to make sure my fringe can still be swept sideways (as instructed by my makeup artist Khai) and amazingly my straight fringe is also able to be swept sideways without much difficulties! love the shape of the cut Jeric gave me.. :)

Thanks Jeric! :)

Pre-wedding Photoshoot

it will be on 12th Oct.. we cant wait for it to come!! its one of our highlights of our wedding prep! as we simply love the photography by Kelvin from Potraits! the artistic feel and the clear statements that can be seen from Kelvin's photographs are simply amazing! and we just cant wait to be part of it...
