This is a space where we (mostly Tiffani, but Adam may be inspired) will write, contemplate, etc. about the wedding and all the little details that come up (sometimes unexpectedly) in planning our wedding.
Wiggin (our Siamese cat) and I made the drive from Hemet to Portland and arrived safely last night. Adam and I haven't seen each other in nearly 4 months, and it is wonderful to be back together. There is a reason we're getting married, and we hope that we never find ourselves in a position to spend months apart in the future. I finished my graduate program, finished my final days with the grant project, and now I just need to find a job. I've applied at a few places,...
If everything goes according to plan, I should be making my escape from Hemet on (or very near) February 18. Trying to do much more than count the days until then - I have tons to do: - turn in Counseling Portfolio - set up final Exit Interview - miss Adam - second interview for job at Pacific University in Portland area - swap convertible back for station wagon - dream of the trees and the rain - pack! or "how the heck do I/we have so much stuff!!" - clean... lots - tie up loose...
Happy New Year, everyone! 2010 looks to be an exciting year. I'm about 95% done with school - just a few more fieldwork hours to complete, then I can submit my portfolio, take the exit interview, and finally have my degree! I'm applying for jobs in Portland as I find them and hope to be moving back in the next month or so. Adam starts school next week and and continues to work at WinCo. And, we're getting married! In less than 6 months! Lots to do... lots to look...
Or should I say, study procrastination? I have one more day between me and freedom - well, mostly. While I will continue to work on my master's project and finish up my fieldwork, I will essentially be done with school. I can't wait. Then I'm free to start on/get back to my holiday preparations, wedding planning, job searching... anything else. I can't believe the wedding is in just a little over 6 months. That's still quite a bit of time, but we have been...
I've only got three weeks of class left and three major assignments to complete before I'm done with school -- well, classes anyway. I still have to completely my fieldwork hours. Then I can get back to wedding planning and crafting. It's hard to feel motivated without Adam here, but at the same time, I'd much rather be making my invitations than doing homework. In fact, I'd much rather do almost anything than my homework, especially since I have so much to do (job...
I seriously need to stop watching shows like "Platinum Weddings." It's interesting to see all the beautiful concepts of wedding come together, but at the same time, I am almost appalled that with all the things money can do, some choose to spend it that way. And I realize that it's not my call to tell someone how to spend their money, especially when a wedding is involved. And I am a big believer in doing things they way you want for special occasions, especially your...
I found my ring!!! I almost cannot believe it - except for the fact that it's back on my finger! Last time when we were here, it went missing. I searched all of our luggage. Corinna and Amanda (Adam's mom and sister) searched the house. Nothing. It was nowhere. But, after being here in Portland for no more than 30 minutes, I found it in the bottom of my backpack. The weird thing is, I completely cleaned out my backpack from our last trip because two...
For the last several weeks, I've been helping my friends Robin and Chris with their wedding. It was a crazy rush through the big day, but everything turned out perfectly for the ceremony and the reception was great. I officiated and helped write the ceremony. I coordinated the events for the day and literally ran around the reception making sure everything was going smoothly. Everyone had a great time, despite it being very cold outside. This whole crazy...
When I got home from work today, the save-the-dates were sitting on the table waiting for me. They look fantastic! Many thanks to my Matron of Honor, Diana. I also received part of the favors I'm putting together today. I was wondering what was taking so long when I finally remembered that the woman I bought them from on Etsy is in Australia. Those items also look great, too. But I'm keeping the favors hush-hush for now. ;) In other non-wedding related...
Apparently I can only blog late at night. Not that this comes as a surprise to me. I have always been more inspired to write late at night when my creative juices are flowing (and Adam is sleeping). Every time I accomplish something wedding related I feel that I should document the occasion so that I know that I've done it after spending the last several months making plans and researching ideas! Yesterday, with the gracious help of Diana (my Matron-of-Honor), I...
