Sherrill and Rebecca first met when the thought of being a bride was inconceivable. In her final year of elementary school Rebecca was hanging out at the entrance to the gymnasium sizing up the visiting girls basketball team. Her competition were warming up on the floor. Sherrill cooly approached dribbling a ball comfortably at her side. Unintimidated, they exchanged greetings. They were not to be friends based on this first stand-off . . . first they had the tests of high school to endure together: Mrs. Pauls, Mr. Teng, and Madame Downs. There, the ties of friendship were formed, and lasted over the next 12 years. To this day Sherrill and Rebecca still share a love of sports such as softball and poledancing.
Todd and Rebecca's first date was also the night when Melanie and Rebecca first met. Todd and his roommate Rnold had their home broken into. Seizing the opportunity to bring Rebecca back to his place after their date, Todd asked if she wouldn't mind a detour so that he could be at the house when the police came. And these were the circumstances under which Rebecca met Melanie (who arrived shortly after Todd and Rebecca to console Rnold). But if this unfortunate event kicked off the relationship that has brought us to the upcoming union that we celebrate here, then Rebecca and Melanie can only expect to have very good fortune for the future of their friendship as well. Presently Melanie and Rebecca enjoy monthly gatherings of the Free To Be Healthy Group, frozen drinks from Starbucks and sneaking into movies with their significant others.
It was the summer of 1992 when Lisa Ehrlich, Tracy Neff, and the bride all met at the Gateway Theatre's Musical Theatre summer camp and began friendships that would last them through years of community theatre, Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, high school, singing lessons, dance classes and the incredible performance choir Sound Sensation!
Lisa
went on to get a marketing degree at McGill University and recently nabbed a fabulous job with one of her favourite companies: LUSH! Lisa and Rebecca have been known to enjoy singing together, going out to the old White Spot and Disneyland.
Tracy has come home to Vancouver after graduating from Boston University and pounding the pavement in New York. She's had recent success in the Jessie award winning production of Urinetown at the Firehall Theatre and also with her one woman show "the Big Apple and A Coffee to go". Tracy and Rebecca never tire of having deep conversations about life, goals, and dreams.
