Accommodations

There are several different lodging options for your trip. Due to the eclectic nature of our guest list, we are providing links to all the locations here and letting you make your own decisions about where to stay. We advise that you make your reservations no later than September.

Our reception will be held at the gorgeous Helmiranta facility, which also boasts five fully-outfitted fisherman's cottages adjoining the main complex. These have five beds each in a total of three rooms and can sleep up to six people. Each cottage comes fully furnished with a kitchen, fireplace, bathroom and flatscreen television. There is also access to the sauna and swimming dock. The rate for each cottage is €218/night. This is by far the most economical choice for those coming in groups. It will also appeal to those who want to enjoy a bit of nature and relaxation on their trip. However, this location is also a 24-minute drive through the countryside from downtown Rauma, so access to a car is necessary. If you are interested in booking one of these cottages, please contact us ASAP, as we need to let the site coordinator know how many we plan on reserving by mid-August.

The adorable Hotel Old Rauma (Hotelli Vanha Rauma) is very centrally located in downtown and our first pick for if you want to stay in the city center. This is especially good for those who do not wish to rent a car, since most of the city (including the church for Saturday) can be accessed on foot from this very convenient location. They are having an autumn early bird special of €117/night for a double room if you book at least 2 weeks ahead. I would advise booking earlier than 2 weeks anyway, so that works perfectly. Price also includes a full breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant.

The Best Western Hotel Raumanlinna is also centrally located in downtown Rauma, allowing easy walking access to just about anything in the city center. Rooms average €130/night and have the standard amenities. The hotel also has an adjoining restaurant called Mr. Jones that serves a very decent range of food to fit most tastes.

The Hotel Cumulus is adjacent to downtown, but does require a bit more walking. They have a very good in-house restaurant on the ground floor and were charging about €95/night when I last ran a price check.
