A beach wedding arbor with white flowers, flamingos and palm trees overlooking the ocean in Aruba.

A destination wedding in Aruba comes with a few very specific perks. Of course, there are the white beaches. The wildly turquoise waters. The ocean breeze blowing your veil in just the right direction for magazine-worthy photo perfection. And then, at the Renaissance Aruba Resort, there’s access to your own private island. Yes, dear wedding planning friends, you read that right. Private island. Color us excited.

True, the resort also has an elegant selection of on-site wedding locations. There’s the Ocean Suites Beach with its tropical oasis, and the waterfront festival plaza with its carefully manicured lawn and palm-lined vista. The convention center is wide open and a luxurious space for large, indoor celebrations, as well as the décor you’ve always dreamed of. Meanwhile, any wedding hosted at the resort is catered by the hotel’s talented staff of culinary artists and managed by certified wedding planners from your first glimpse of the ceremony site to the last glass of champagne.

But then there’s the island. Named Renaissance Island, after the resort, this gem is located just off Aruba’s coast and is only accessible by boat. Use is limited exclusively to resort guests, and during your wedding, available only to you and your guests. Unique, intimate, and home to two idyllic beaches – and a flurry of flamingos – the island is the dreamiest wedding backdrop around, and a great setting for a moonlit dance party and celebration. Honestly, we can’t seem to get this place off our minds, or out of our wedding daydreams.
