One thing is certain: Denver has enough sunshine to go around. And that average of 300 days a year of mostly-sunny skies (we’ve found that a cloud or two is actually a nice break) leads to another certainty: in Denver, finding a rooftop restaurant or patio with tasty fare is legitimately a breeze. Honeymooners, meet some of the best outdoor venues for sipping and savoring this city has to offer.
We’ll start at the top.
Linger wins first prize for best rooftop patio around with a cityscape view from its Highlands location. The restaurant also serves fresh, locally sourced and globally inspired food – or what the owner refers to as “global street food” – alongside an array of cocktails.
Bistro Vendome comes next. Located in Larimer Square this French bistro is named after Place Vendome in Paris and features 65 types of French wine, perfect for enjoying on the restaurant’s garden patio.
Potager carries the garden theme forward with the addition of whiskey barrel planters and a variety of edibles: the eco-friendly restaurant grows its own vegetables and herbs right beside the patio furniture. Food, here, is more than simply nourishment – it is connection to life and tradition.
“Mountain Mex” is on the menu at Hacienda Colorado and the roomy courtyard patio holds a crackling fire pit.
Rounding out our list is Marlowe's, a locally owned saloon and chophouse with a patio and prime location for people watching on the corner of the 16th street mall.
And before we forget – ViewHouse, located minutes from Coors Field, boasts a beverage fit for the sunniest of Rocky Mountain weather: the Colorado Sunshine.
