Bride and groom kissing in an open field outside of Denver, Colorado.

From mountain to valley and all the foothills in between, Denver has more than its share of open-air Rocky Mountain terrain, which translates to outdoor venues galore. From the city’s primarily level heart to a bluff-bordered valley just thirty minutes away from town, we’ve collected three of the prettiest Denver wedding locations around. Believe us, narrowing down this list was anything but easy.

Crooked Willow Farms

The farthest point comes first. Crooked Willow Farms is a quick drive from downtown but feels like it’s a world away. Nestled in the Plum Creek Valley, the venue is 90 acres of hand-crafted spaces and buildings piled high with history – including a wine room, a carriage-house turned ballroom and the most upscale barn loft around. We think an outdoor party in the Courtyard is best, but Crooked Willow’s indoor options are an ideal bad-weather backup plan.

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield

If you like flowers, market lights and rustic red barns, the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield have your new last name written all over them. A 750-acre garden and nature preserve, this venue has a Rocky Mountain backdrop and an intimate reception site at a restored and oh-so picturesque dairy barn. Perfectly ideal for romantic garden party themes with a touch of country-inspired vintage appeal.

Washington Park Boathouse

A century old, this lakeside structure beside Smith Lake in Washington (“Wash”) Park seats up to 150 guests and comes with a budget-friendly rental fee. The outdoor pavilion frames views of the lake and local greenery while providing shelter from the sun and plenty of room for the traditional dining and dancing. We think this venue is just begging for a DIY-friendly summer wedding or two.
