From brick pathways to elegant ballrooms, we love a good wedding venue. There’s just something special about the place that’s going to set the scene for two people to commit to life together that gets us every time. And because we like to translate our own soft spot for ceremony sites into something helpful for you as you plan your Delaware wedding, here are just a few of our favorite Delaware wedding venues.
The Carriage House at Rockwood Park
Part of the historic Rockwood Estate, the Carriage House is a restored and recently expanded building and unique setting fit for the prettiest of weddings. Comprised of three different rooms (all within a beautiful grey stone building) with a maximum capacity of 225 seated guests, the Carriage House is all wood flooring and wide open space, with room nearby for outdoor tented receptions. Ceremonies can be held in the adjacent Walled Garden, an option we find to be absolutely picture-perfect.
Sugar House Weddings at Elk Forge
Tucked away on five acres of ancient trees and beautifully cared-for gardens, the historic Elk Forge Manor rests right up against Big Elk Creek and is a seriously romantic setting for your special day. Ceremonies can be held outdoor beneath a garden arch or amidst the manor’s trees, or inside for an intimate gathering next to a cozy fireplace. Wedding packages help make your planning efforts easy, and the property’s bed and breakfast can be rented out in entirety for couples putting together a weekend-long celebration.
Nassau Valley Vineyards
Located in the green rolling fields of Sussex County, the Nassau Valley Vineyards are not only an incredible Delaware wedding location, they’re also a place that can host wedding receptions of nearly any size. With several smaller rooms and two large event halls to choose from, couples can easily plan a ceremony and reception that are indoor, outdoor, large or small. The choice is yours, and the setting is just about perfect.
