Pittsburgh is one big city. A former industrial giant, this eastern metropolitan area is located at the intersection of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers and has grown to be an incredibly picturesque urban setting complete with hilly, green neighborhoods and a riverfront skyline. We think its balance of city size and beautiful settings mean one thing: this is a great place to plan a wedding. Here are a few of our favorite vendors in the area just to get that planning inspiration flowing.

Pittsburgh Wedding Venues

The Pennsylvanian may well be the perfect urban Pittsburgh wedding venue. A turn of the century building that originally housed a train terminus and office building for the Pennsylvania railroad, the facility is now home to apartments, offices, and the most elegant of reception sites. The concourse hosts special events with a vaulted ceiling, marble floors and elaborately appointed walls and trappings as the backdrop for your special day. Meanwhile, Shady Elms Farm is just waiting for wedding planning couples who’d like to escape the city limits. A rustic family farm located just outside Pittsburgh in Hickory, Pennsylvania, the wedding venue is intimate and sweet, with just a shade of vintage charm. Exposed wood beams and crystal chandeliers are a match made in heaven, and the brick patio is an ideal setting for cocktail hour.

Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers

Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer Rachel Rowland of Rachel Rowland Photography is a self-described picture-taker and memory-capturer. She doesn’t believe in cookie cutter photographs, but chooses instead to specialize in romantic, unique, and inspirational images that reflect you, your love, and the story of your day. We love her philosophy and work ethic – almost as much as the lovely images she produces.

P.S. Don’t forget to use the best planning tools around – our wedding websites are perfect for communicating with your guests and sharing the details of your wedding day and registry.
