What could be a better location to celebrate my artistic husband-to-be than an art museum? We are so excited to have our rehearsal dinner on the Emory University campus where my Momma and Daddy met and fell in love. The Reception Hall overlooks the very quad where they both graduated! We will have valet parking at the main museum entrance, and guests will take the elevator up to the third floor for the celebration and dinner.

About the museum:
The collections of the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University span the globe and the centuries. Housed in a distinguished building by renowned architect Michael Graves, the Carlos maintains the largest collection of ancient art in the Southeast with objects from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Near East, and the ancient Americas. The Museum is also home to collections of nineteenth- and twentieth-century sub-Saharan African art and European and American works on paper from the Renaissance to the present day.

Travis and I adore our church, and have been so thrilled that my sister Gretchen, her husband James, and my gorgeous nephew Ian also call Epiphany their church home since moving back to Atlanta. As Episcopalians, having a Eucharist service in order to partake in communion with our family and friends is so important to both Travis and me. The Episcopal wedding liturgy calls for communion, but our garden wedding site isn't the ideal location for a full Eucharist. So, we decided to host this part of our wedding ceremony at our beloved church with our favorite rector, The Rev. Benno Pattison presiding. We look forward to sharing this special, special service with loved ones, and to a lunch and gathering in the parish hall after the service.

Our church sanctuary is also our rain plan location in case the Cator Woolford Gardens are too wet or stormy on the evening of May 30th! The two locations are less than half a mile apart.

These gardens are located on the Frazer Center property and are just stunning! They're a little wild, but very romantic, and make you feel like you've just stepped completely out of Atlanta! Weather permitting, we'll have the ceremony in the garden, with my godfather, The Rev. Michael Owens officiating and The Rev. Benno Pattison assisting. We also plan to have dinner in the gardens under the tents. Then we'll head up the hill to the Atrium reception hall of the Frazer Center for cake-cutting, dancing, and more celebrating. Don't worry, we'll have golf carts to transport everyone from the parking area to the ceremony site, and back up to the Atrium. Please, please, please wear shoes with a flat sole. Otherwise, you may find your high heels sinking into the grass!

We just love this site, and appreciate that the Frazer Center is a school with such a positive impact. We are thrilled that our event will benefit the wonderful programs and services provided for the children and adults enrolled there.

About the Frazer Center:
The Frazer Center was established by Mrs. James N. Frazer and Mrs. Mills B. Lane as The Cerebral Palsy School of Atlanta to meet the educational needs of children with disabilities. Today the Center provides services to children and adults with disabilities as well as children who are typically developing.
