You might not realize how far back we go. Here's a peek at our history:
1991:
We met in Mr. Getty's accounting class in high school; We didn't get to talk too much since Mr. Getty had a habit of locking the door at 9am sharp so if you were late, you didn't get in. Jeff experienced the locked door quite a bit.
1993/94:
Jeff picked me up at a local bar (good ol' 52nd street) and asked for my number. This brought on a summer of late night phone calls, Friday afternoon visits on his motorbike with JP and slow-dances at Hooterville Station. Sadly, it never went anywhere and we ended up going our separate ways.
1999:
Re-connected through a friend (Mr. Slack) and hit it off again. The infamous "playoff hockey game" incident occured where if you haven't heard it by now, i'm sure you'll hear about it again at the wedding. Again, we ended up going our separate ways.
2004:
In planning a high-school reunion, I sent Jeff a card in the mail to his parents place since that was my last known address for him. Little did I know he was living in Calgary at the time! Ken and the boys were there for some golf and he brought Jeff the 'little red envelope'. We got back in touch again through email and became good friends.
May 2005:
I went to Calgary for a 'funeral directors conference' (no joke) and we saw each other for the first time in over 5 years.
We've been together ever since!
