Tyler and I met right before I was heading off to school at Texas Tech University and he was on a break going into his sophomore year at University of Notre Dame. Even though we went to the same high school, we never really knew each other. Mutual friends brought us together but it wasn't until Thanksgiving break before it started to click and sparks flew!
No one plans on a long distance relationship, but it just happened that way. So thanks to our parents for all those plane tickets! From Lubbock, TX to South Bend, IN, it was not cheap, especially after two and a half years. With Tbone playing baseball, we worked around his busy schedule for our rendevous. It's a good thing we like to travel!
Once Tbone graduated from Notre Dame, I was in nursing school at University of Texas at Arlington. He quickly found his first grown up job, and current job, at Grant Thorton as an accountant. A couple years later, I graduated and became a registered nurse. I work at Methodist Medical Center of Dallas in the neonatal intensive care unit. We both enjoy our jobs and the people we work with.
Last year we bought our home and shortly after found our Layla. She is slowly destroying everything we own, but we still love that girl! This past May, Tbone and I vacationed in the Dominican Republic with our good friends, and he popped the question on the beach. Somehow he surprised me and I couldn't be happier! We have always imagined getting married on the beach and hope that as many of our friends and family can make it to celebrate with us in Mexico!
