American Visionary Art Museum

The American Visionary Art Museum is the nation's official museum dedicated to intuitive, self-taught artistry.  As a 501-3C non-profit organization, all funds brought in through facility rental help support the museum by fund its exhibitions, education program, and numerous free admission days and activities through the year.  Nestled at the base of Historic Federal Hill in Baltimore's beautiful Inner Harbor, the museum is easily accessible by car, taxi, or water taxi.

​AVAM offers two amazing and unique locations for your big day.   The smaller Sculpture Barn & Wildflower Garden is available for rental mid-March thru mid-December and can accommodate 125 guests seated with room for dancing or up to 250 for a standing cocktail style reception.  The facility rental fee includes guests access to tour the exhibits in our main museum building during your event.  Ceremonies may take place either in the attached Wildflower Garden or the dramatic iron and marble spiral staircase inside the main building.

For larger weddings, the JRVC 3rd floor banquet room can accommodate groups as large as 450, which provides adequate room for cocktails, dinner & dancing for 140+ guests.  The facility rental fee includes tables and chairs, a stage, and the opportunity for your guests to tour the exhibits on the 1st & 2nd floors throughout the evening.  The JRVC 1st floor Visionary Villiage exhibit area, home to some of AVAM's fun and fantastic large sculpture pieces, is also available for ceremonies.
