Welcome To Burdoc Farms
Burdoc Farms is nestled in the idyllic natural green hills. Burdoc Farms offers a true and relaxed experience for your once in a lifetime event.
A gazebo, a covered hay barn with a hard wood floor, an old tobacco pole barn with crystal chandeliers tons of open spaces and options to choose from for your wedding day. Whatever your, taste country, rustic, vintage, simple, elegant, or western, Burdoc Farms will lend itself to your visions. With over 650 acres of open fields and forest, Burdoc Farms has been in the Shepherd family for over 60 years. The farm was once a tobacco and cattle farm, producing national champion Shorthorn Beef Cattle in the 60’s. When Keith and Sara Shepherd took over operations in the 90’s the farm was converted to a conservation farm, with timber management, wildlife habitat, recreation and agritourism becoming the main focus of farm operations. The wedding business was started in 2012 with the conversion of the equipment barn, now known as The Chapel Barn. Then the rehabilitation of the The Tobacco Barn followed. The Shepherd family painstakingly rehabbed and recycled all materials in both barns to enhance and preserve the authenticity of the buildings. The Tobacco Barn was built in 1954 by the Wood Brothers of Cadiz Kentucky. The Wood brothers were well known for their pole barn structures and at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle Washington the brothers were hired to build a pole barn structure on site as a testament to American ingenuity. The Chapel Barn was rebuilt after the original Ole’ Leanin’ Barn, built in 1977, was destroyed by the Easter Sunday tornado. The Chapel Barn has beautiful wood floors, white pews and chairs, Edison bulb string lighting and a chandelier.
The Shepherd Family love sharing their family farm in a unique way and strive to provide you with a setting that is authentic and memorable with a dose of Americana…..
Recently had my wedding here and it was absolutely amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better venue! Sara and her team are amazing and make sure that your day goes very smooth! Made it through the entire wedding without one single hiccup! Thank you so much for all you did for us on our special day.
Our reasoning for choosing Burdoc Farms were several factors. One being we wanted and outdoor wedding but also some type of shelter in case of rain. We loved the beautiful chandeliers in the reception barn as well as the convenient clean restrooms. The rustic but classy look was perfect. We loved the fact that our guest were able to feel comfortable and not closed into a tight space. Sara was great to work with and very easy going. Any stress that day or leading up to that day, she was there to help with a smile. Our most memorable moment had to be our first look. We've been together a very long time but we were still anxiously waiting and beyond nervous to see each other, true butterflies.
You will never find a more peaceful and gorgeous venue to hold your wedding. Sara and her entire team give you so much more than just a place to hold your Once in a life time day, the day you have dreamed about since you were a little girl! LOVED!
I love this gorgeous venue! The Chandeliers are an absolutely amazing touch for your wedding day. Sara is so wonderful to work with!
