China Jorrin was born and raised into a photographic family in New York City. She got her first camera at six, which she used to photograph the kids on the block where she grew up in Chelsea. She studied filmmaking at Bard College. After graduating college and working in the film industry in New York, China left the States to live in Europe. There she began to pursue photography, first working as a photo assistant to fashion photographers in Paris, then working as a photographer in Prague. When she returned to New York China started to freelance for The Associated Press.
China Jorrin brings her experience as a documentary, portrait and fine art photographer to her approach in photographing weddings. While remaining unobtrusive, she captures the candid and key moments that create an intimate and beautiful record of the day.
